WELLAND, ONT. - The Welland Jackfish have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Teodoro Ortega for the upcoming 2025 season.

Ortega, 24, returns to The Pond for his second season with the Fish following his flawless late season audition in 2024 when recorded a perfect 0.00 ERA with a 2-0 record, 16 strikeouts and three walks.

He joined the Jackfish following four years in with the Texas Rangers’ organization and one with Oakland. In five seasons in affiliated baseball, Teodoro recorded a 2.93 ERA with 140 strikeouts.

The Jackfish return to The Pond on Saturday, May 17 as they take on the Barrie Baycats.
