MISSISSAUGA - The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today released its 2021 schedule which begins on Wednesday, July 7 as the Hamilton Cardinals travel to Toronto for a showdown at Christie Pits.
The 2021 season will mark the IBL’s 102nd season.
Each team will again play a 30-game schedule. Weekends comprise a large majority of the schedule as 62% of the games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (66 of the 105 games).
2021 Intercounty Baseball League Schedule Highlights:
July 10 - The Kitchener Panthers and defending champion Barrie Baycats meet for the first time in a re-match of the 2019 final series that saw Barrie win four games to two.
September 5 - The IBL’s 102nd season comes to an end with the close of the regular season with three games on the docket.
"We're very happy to be able to release a schedule - yet another sign we are closer to getting back on the field," said IBL Commissioner John Kastner. "With all the numbers trending in the right direction, there's a lot of confidence that we will be able to play this slate of game."
