Official Ottawa Titans News Release
Ottawa, Ont. - Tyler Jandron (win, 1-0) backed the Ottawa Titans to a 3-0 win in game one of the East Division FLDS with a complete game shutout over the Quebec Capitales.
Following a scoreless first, the Titans put up the game’s only tallies with a three spot off the Frontier League's Pitcher of the Year, Miguel Cienfuegos (Montreal, Que.), in the second inning.
After a Jake Sanford (Cole Harbour, N.S.) leadoff single, Kai Moody's RBI double scored the game's opening run. Later in the frame with two on, Liam McArthur's slow roller found its way up the middle to score Jason Dicochea and AJ Wright.
The night belonged to Jandron's complete game shutout, as the southpaw surrendered four hits, walking two, and striking out four in his first playoff start.
Jandron faced three more than the minimum on Friday, guiding the Titans to their 11th win in their last 12 contests, dating back to the regular season.
The complete game effort marks the second time this season that a Titans starter has gone the distance, including the regular season, but the first time a starter has shut out an opponent.
With a 1-0 series lead, the Titans head to Stade Canac for game two of the East Division FLDS against the Quebec Capitales on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
