Blue Jays from Away
In seven games on Friday, the Blue Jays' affiliates were 6-1 with the Dunedin Blue Jays getting rained out.
Buffalo Bisons 2, Durham Bulls (TB) 9
With only six hits, the triple-A Buffalo Bisons were beating soundly by the Durham Bulls 9-2.
Socrates Brito was 2/4 with a run while Patrick Kivlehan hit a double, going 1/4. Rowdy Tellez was responsible for both runs, going 1/3 with a home run and a sac fly. Alen Hanson and Roemon Fields each had a single.
Nick Kingham made the spot start and allowed five runs on six hits with two home runs and two walks, striking out one over two innings, Shawn Morimando allowed another four runs on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts and apparently came out with what was called an injury on MiLB.com in the sixth after three innings. Buddy Boshers tossed two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and striking out one while Ty Tice struck out one in the eighth, finishing the game.

Roster Notes: Andrew Sopko was activated off the IL and Conor Fisk was placed on the IL.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Reading Fightin Phils (PHI) 1
The double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats handled the Reading Fightin Phils, beating them 5-1.
After an interview with our own intrepid Kristin Basnett (more info on that in the coming days), Kevin Smith went on to go 3/4 with a stolen base while Brock Lundquist was 2/4 with two RBI and a run. Santiago Espinal was 1/3 with a stolen base and a run and Chad Spanberger was 0/3 but walked and drove in a run. Christian Williams was 1/4 with a run and Logan Warmoth was 1/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
On the mound, Hector Perez had one of his best games, throwing seven innings and giving up just one run on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Brad Wilson gave up a hit and nothing more in the eighth, striking out one and Jackson McClelland finished it, allowing a hit and a walk in the ninth, striking out one.

Lansing Lugnuts 9, West Michigan Whitecaps (DET) 1
The low-A Lansing Lugnuts won by an eight-run margin for their second consecutive game, beating the West Michigan Whitecaps by a 9-1 score.
Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) was 2/5 with three RBI at the top of the order, scoring once and hitting a sac fly while Hunter Steinmetz was 3/4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs. Rafael Lantigua was 2/4 with a double, a walk and two RBI and Gabriel Moreno was 2/5 with a double and picked off two runners from behind the plate. D.J. Neal hit the club's only home run, going 2/5 with an RBI and two runs while Hagen Danner was 1/5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs and Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) was 1/3 with a walk and two runs.
Eric Pardinho was clocked up to 97 mph (according to the broadcast), allowing just one run on two hits with four walks in five innings, striking out six. Cobi Johnson struck out seven, walking one in three innings and Marcus Reyes extended his scoreless string, giving up just a hit in the ninth inning.

Vancouver Canadians 6, Spokane Indians (TEX) 3
The Vancouver Canadians picked up another win, defeating the Spokane Indians 6-3.
Dom Abbadessa had a pair of hits, going 2/3 with a walk and three runs, stealing two bases while Will Robertson hit his second home run in as many games, going 1/4 with a solo blast and two runs. Ronny Brito also hit a solo home run, going 1/4 with the solo shot. Yorman Rodriguez was 1/4 with a triple, a sac fly and two RBI while Tanner Morris was 1/5 with an RBI. Luis De Los Santos also had a hit, going 1/4 while Philip Clarke was 1/3 with a walk.
Alex Nolan (Burlington, Ont.) threw four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with a strikeout before Josh Almonte came on for the fifth, striking out two. Nicolas Medina allowed three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings but didn't allow a run while Mike Pascoe gave up a run on a solo home run among three hits with five strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Luke Gillingham allowed a walk but struck out two in the ninth to pick up his third save.

Bluefield Blue Jays 2, Danville Braves (ATL) 0
The Bluefield Blue Jays (Rookie Ball) took advantage of two errors by the Danville Braves, not making any of their own and holding them to just four hits as the Blue Jays shut out the Braves 2-0.
Alejandro Melean came out of the game after striking out two batters and hitting one with an apparent injury in the first inning and Juan Acosta tossed 4 1/3 innings of outstanding baseball, allowing two hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Luis Alvarez threw a scoreless sixth, giving up a hit and striking out one and Yunior Hinojosa allowed a hit and a walk in two innings, striking out one. Kyle Huckaby got the save with a scoreless ninth, striking out two.
The Blue Jays had just four hits including a two-run home run from D.J. Daniels who was 1/3 with the blast. Joseph Reyes was 2/4 with a run and Ryan Sloniger had the club's other hit.

GCL Blue Jays 6, GCL Tigers West 2
In a rain-shortened game, the GCL Blue Jays defeated the Tigers West 6-2.
Orelvis Martinez was 2/3 with an RBI and a run while Dasan Brown made his pro debut, going 1/3 with a triple but was caught stealing. Rainer Nunez was 1/3 with a double, a sac fly and two RBI while Jose Rivas was 1/1 with a double. Justin Ammons was 1/3 with a walk and two runs while Alberto Rodriguez was 1/3 with an RBI and a sac fly. Jhon Solarte was 1/3 with a walk and an outfield assist and Hugo Cardona was 0/4 with two runs and two stolen bases.
On the mound, Wilgenis Alvarado tossed three innings, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts while Michael Dominguez got the win, allowing just a walk and striking out three over three innings. Ronald Govea struck out one in his inning and Juanfer Castro and Oscar Brito each retired all of the batters they faced, with Castro tossing 2/3 of an inning and Brito throwing 1/3 of an inning.

DSL Blue Jays 12, DSL D-backs1 1
The DSL Blue Jays fell beat up on the DSL D-backs by a 10-1 score.
The DSL Blue Jays had 13 hits, including three from Glenn Santiago who was 3/5 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs. Daniel Oliva was 3/5 with a double, two RBI and a run while Juan Pizarro was 3/4 with an RBI and a run. Francisco Fajardo was also on base three times, going 2/3 with a walk, an RBI, three runs and three stolen bases. Leonel Callez was 1/2 with a walk and an RBI while Emmanuel Sanchez was 1/3 with two walks, an RBI and a run.
Bejardi Meza tossed five innings of one-hit ball, allowing two walks and striking out two while Juan Martinez also allowed a hit and two walks with two strikeouts over two innings. Andres Garcia allowed a run on three hits with a strikeout in two innings to finish the game.
