Blue Jays from Away
In six games on Thursday, the Toronto Blue Jays' minor league teams were 3-3 with the Dunedin Blue Jays splitting a doubleheader.
Buffalo Bisons 1, Rochester Red Wings 6
The triple-A Buffalo Bisons could only manage five hits and one run in a 6-1 loss to the Rochester Red Wings. Anthony Alford had two of those hits including a double and drove in a run, adding a stolen base while Roemon Fields was 1/4 with two stolen bases. Michael De La Cruz was 1/3 with a double and a walk.
Mike Hauschild was hit hard, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits with four walks and a strikeout over six innings. Craig Breslow allowed three hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings and Justin Shafer retired the final two batters, striking out one.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4, Portland Sea Dogs 2
The double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats pounded out 12 hits in a 4-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs. Jon Berti accounted for three, just missing another cycle but hitting a single, a double and a triple, scoring twice and taking a walk. Bo Bichette was 3/4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs and Santiago Espinal was 3/3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Harold Ramirez was 2/4 with a walk, a double and an RBI and Max Pentecost was 1/4 with a walk.
On the mound, Hector Perez had a strong outing, throwing five innings and giving up just two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Josh DeGraaf came out of the bullpen to pick up the win, throwing three innings and striking out six, giving up only two hits and Corey Copping got the save, walking two and striking out two in the ninth.

Roster Notes: Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.) was placed on the 7-day DL and Josh DeGraaf was activated from the DL.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Palm Beach Cardinals 2
In eight innings, the class-A Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays dispatched the Palm Beach Cardinals in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Starter Patrick Murphy, already named the Pitcher of the Year for the Florida State League, had another solid outing, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings. William Ouellette tossed a scoreless sixth and Bryan Baker held down the fort for two innings, walking one and striking out two to get the win.
Brock Lundquist (2/4, RBI), Riley Adams (2/3, R) and Ivan Castillo (2/3, RBI) had two hits each and Josh Donaldson hit a solo home run, going 1/3.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Palm Beach Cardinals 4
The Dunedin Blue Jays couldn't capture their extra-inning magic in Game 2 of their doubleheader with the Palm Beach Cardinals, losing 4-1. Connor Eller started, giving up three runs on nine hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings and Claudio Custodio allowed another run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings. Jake Fishman finished, striking out one in the seventh.
Kevin Smith hit his 18th home run with Dunedin this year (giving him 25 on the year in total) and Josh Palacios hit a double and Logan Warmoth walked and was 1/2.

Lansing Lugnuts 10, Great Lakes Loons 2
The low-A Lansing Lugnuts are getting ready for the playoffs and hammered the Great Lakes Loons 10-2 on Thursday. Ryan Noda was 1/4 with a walk and his 20th home run, driving in two and scoring twice while Chavez Young was 2/3 with a walk, a triple, two RBI and a run. Reggie Pruitt was 23 with a walk, a run and a stolen base and Bryan Lizardo was 2/3 with a walk and two runs, driving in one. Freddy Rodriguez was 2/3 with a walk, a triple, three RBI and two runs and Samad Taylor was 1/5 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run.
Jordan Barrett had an excellent start, tossing 74 pitches and going six innings, giving up six hits and a walk with four strikeouts without giving up a run. Emerson Jimenez allowed two runs on three hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings and Dalton Rodriguez allowed three hits and a walk in 1 2/3 innings, striking out one.

Vancouver Canadians 1, Everett AquaSox 8
The class-A Short-Season Vancouver Canadians couldn't get much done with the bats, totalling just six hits and one run in an 8-1 loss to the Everett AquaSox. Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) was 2/3 with two triples and Mc Gregory Contreras was 2/4 with a triple and an RBI. Nick Podkul had a single and walked.
Jose Espada only got through 2 2/3 innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Justin Watts tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings, stranding two and giving up two hits with three strikeouts. Denis Diaz allowed three runs on three hits and two walks in one inning and Connor Law gave up two hits, letting his inherited runner score, striking out one in two innings and Marcus Reyes allowed a hit and struck out one in the ninth.
