Blue Jays from Away
The Toronto Blue Jays' minor league clubs got some stellar pitching performances on Tuesday as the affiliates went 6-2 over the course of the day.
Buffalo Bisons 4, Rochester Red Wings 0
A day after being blanked by the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Buffalo Bisons turned the tables and shut out the Red Sox 4-0. Nick Tepesch started, throwing six shutout innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven. Carlos Ramirez continued his quest for an ERA-free season, tossing two more innings with just one hit and one walk and four strikeouts. Jeff Beliveau walked two in the ninth but neither runner scored.
Teoscar Hernandez provided most of the offence, going 2/4 with a double, a home run and three RBI. Christian Lopes was on base three times, going 1/2 with a double and two walks, scoring twice and Rowdy Tellez was back in the lineup, going 1/3 with a walk. Jason Leblebijian was 1/4 with a double and an RBI.
Player of the Game: Nick Tepesch and Teoscar Hernandez
Roster Notes: Leonel Campos was optioned back to Buffalo and Ryan Borucki was promoted to the Bisons (he's expected to start Thursday). Brett Anderson's contract was selected by the Blue Jays and T.J. House was sent to Buffalo outright.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8, Reading Fightin Phils 4
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats' bats rallied, ensuring a win by scoring some late runs in an 8-4 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils. Anthony Alford was front and centre, going 3/5 with an RBI, three runs and two stolen bases. Tim Lopes was 2/5 with a double and two RBI while Harold Ramirez was 2/4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs. Richard Urena was 2/6 and Lourdes Gurriel drove in two runs, going 1/5. Reese McGuire was on base four times, going 1/2 with three walks and two runs.
Sean Reid-Foley's line wasn't the prettiest but it got him the win. He went six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Dusty Isaacs provided a scoreless frame and Danny Young struck out three over two innings, giving up a run on two hits and a walk.
Player of the Game: Anthony Alford and Reese McGuire
Roster Notes: Ryan Borucki was promoted to Buffalo.
Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Tampa Yankees 4
The Dunedin Blue Jays won the first game of their doubleheader with the Florida Fire Frogs by a 6-4 score. Patrick Murphy made his Dunedin debut, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings. Nick Hartman made his second appearance in Dunedin, tossing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, striking out two. Jackson McClelland came in to save the game, throwing a scoreless seventh.
Cavan Biggio went 2/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run while Bo Bichette was 1/2 with two walks and a run. Connor Panas (Toronto, Ont.) was 1/4 with a run and an RBI and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Montreal, Que.) was 0/3 but walked once and scored twice.

Dunedin Blue Jays 0, Tampa Yankees 1
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Dunedin Blue Jays couldn't muster enough offence, losing 1-0 thanks to an unearned run. Josh DeGraaf was the victim of the unearned run, giving up just two hits and a walk over five innings with seven strikeouts. Kirby Snead finished the game, going an inning and allowing two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in the final frame.
The offence had just four hits including two singles from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Vancouver Canadians 4, Boise Hawks 10
The Vancouver Canadians couldn't stem the tide as the Boise Hawks beat them 10-4 on account of four errors ultimately accounting for seven unearned runs. Juan Nunez started, giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in four innings. Dany Jimenez allowed five more runs but only one was earned, on three hits (including a home run) and a walk over an inning. Grayson Huffman was victimized for three more runs, all unearned over three innings, giving up three hits and a walk over three innings. Orlando Pascual struck out two more in the ninth.
Reggie Pruitt (2/5, RBI, SB), Logan Warmoth (2/5, R) and Samad Taylor (2/3, RBI, R) all had two hits while Norberto Obeso was on base twice, going 1/4 with a walk and a run. Riley Adams was 1/4 with a walk and an RBI and Brock Lundquist was 1/4 with a walk.

Bluefield Blue Jays 5, Johnson City Cardinals 0
The Bluefield Blue Jays shut down the Johnson City Cardinals 5-0, giving up only one hit in a convincing win on Tuesday. Turner Larkins started, striking out one over two innings and Jordan Barrett took over, giving up just one hit and one walk over five innings, striking out seven. Jonathan Cheshire struck out two over two innings of relief.
Yorman Rodriguez was 2/4 with an RBI and a run while Antony Fuentes was 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Brandon Grudzielanek drove in two runs, going 1/4 with a triple and two runs and Chavez Young hit a double, going 1/4.
Player of the Game: Jordan Barrett
GCL Blue Jays 1, GCL Yankees West 0
The GCL Blue Jays got a rain-shortened win, beating the GCL Yankees West 1-0. Maverik Buffo continued to outclass the GCL, tossing five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three, lowering his ERA to 0.53 on the season.
The Blue Jays had just three hits, getting a single and an RBI from Jose Theran and a single and a run from Andres Guerra.

DSL Blue Jays 0, DSL Dodgers2 1
The DSL Blue Jays had their playoff series evened with the DSL Dodgers2, losing 1-0 in 10 innings. Naswell Paulino had a strong game, going six scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk with five strikeouts before Ronald Magdaniel continued to pitch well. Magdaniel went 3 2/3 innings, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk with three strikeouts.
Hector Guerrero was 2/4 with a triple and Jose Briceno was 1/1 with a walk.
