Lansing Lugnuts 9, Lake County Captains 10

In a good, old-fashioned slug fest, the Lake County Captains snuck out a win, scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Lansing Lugnuts 10-9. Catcher Ryan Gold was 4/4 with two RBI and two runs while Reggie Pruitt (2/4, 2B, RBI, 2 R, SB) and Norberto Obeso (2/5, BB, R) had two hits each. Jesus Navarro was 1/3 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base and Bryan Lizardo was 1/4 with a walk and an RBI. Chavez Young was 1/4 with a walk and two runs, stealing his 43rd base of the year, putting him within one of Samad Taylor's 44 for the club lead.

Graham Spraker had a strong start, going five innings and giving up just two hits and four walks with four strikeouts and Dany Jimenez allowed three runs on five hits (including a home run) with four strikeouts in two innings. Bluefield Blue Jays 3, Princeton Rays 7

The Princeton Rays tied up their best-of-three Appalachian League Semifinal with a 7-3 win over the rookie-class Bluefield Blue Jays in Game 2 of their series. Claudio Galva started, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings and left two runners on for Cre Finfrock who wasn't able to get any outs. Finfrock allowed one of the two inherited runners to score, and also pitched to two batters, allowing one hit and two walks, although it's likely he may have left the game in the middle of a batter who was walked by Grant Townsend. Townsend got just one out before Jackson Rees came on to pitch three scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk with four strikeouts before Brennan Price gave up a hit and a walk in 1 1/3 innings.

Alejandro Kirk was 2/3 with a double, two walks and two RBI behind the plate and Rafael Lantigua was 2/4. Cal Stevenson was 1/4 with a walk and a run and Jordan Groshans was 1/4.
