Blue Jays from Away

Over six games in the Toronto Blue Jays' system on Tuesday, the affiliates won four with three shutouts thrown.

Buffalo Bisons 2, Indianapolis Indians (PIT) 0

The triple-A Buffalo Bisons got some stellar pitching on the way to a five-hit shutout of the Indianapolis Indians in a 2-0 win.

David Paulino tossed four scoreless frames, allowing just two hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Zach Jackson got the win, striking out three in two innings before Justin Shafer tossed a scoreless seventh, striking out one. Buddy Boshers allowed three hits over two innings but didn't give up a run, preserving the shutout and earning a save, striking out two.

Patrick Kivlehan led the way offensively, going 2/3 with a home run, a walk, an RBI and a run while Socrates Brito drove in the other run, going 1/4 with a double. Andy Burns also hit a double, going 1/3 with a walk and Anthony Alford was 1/4 with a stolen base. Roemon Fields also stole a base, going 0/2 with a walk and run while Reese McGuire and Richard Urena were each 1/4.

Roster Note: David Paulino and Dusty Isaacs were both activated off the 7-day Injured List, Maximo Castillo was sent back to the Dunedin Blue Jays and T.J. Zeuch was sent to Dunedin for rehab.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 0, Bowie Baysox (BAL) 6

While the Buffalo Bisons shut out their opposition, the double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats were shut out by the Bowie Baysox, losing 6-0.

The club had just four hits including a double from Kevin Smith and singles from Alberto Mineo, Christian Williams and Andres Sotillo.

Yennsy Diaz allowed four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts over six innings while Vinny Nittoli struck out one in the seventh. Jackson McClelland allowed two unearned runs in the eighth, giving up a hit and two walks with one strikeout in 2/3 of an inning while Jake Fishman came on with two outs and two on and retired the only batter he faced.

Dunedin Blue Jays 11, Florida Fire Frogs (ATL) 0

The class-A Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays scored a shutout in their first game of their doubleheader with the Florida Fire Frogs, winning 11-0.

Bo Bichette had a monster game, going 4/5 with a double, an RBI and two runs while Christopher Bec was 3/5 with a double, three RBI, a run and a stolen base. Kevin Vicuna was on base three times, going 2/3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run. Logan Warmoth was 1/3 with a walk, an RBI and a run while Norberto Obeso was 1/4 with an RBI and a run and Kacy Clemens was 1/4 with a double and a run. Samad Taylor was 1/3 with a walk and a run and Cal Stevenson was 1/5 with an RBI and two runs. Demi Orimoloye hit a double, going 1/4 with two RBI and a run.

Joey Murray was outstanding on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and two walks with six strikeouts for the win. Kyle Weatherly went the sixth, striking out one and Dany Jimenez allowed a hit and struck out the side in the seventh.

Roster Notes: Maximo Castillo and T.J. Zeuch were sent to Dunedin, Zeuch for a rehab assignment.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Florida Fire Frogs (ATL) 0

There was a little bit of deja vu as the Dunedin Blue Jays blanked the Florida Fire Frogs again, winning 2-0 in the other game of the doubleheader.

Cal Stevenson had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run and Bo Bichette was 1/3 with a double but he also made two errors at shortstop. Logan Warmoth was 1/4 with a double and an rBI while Samad Taylor also hit a double, going 1/3 with a run. Chavez Young and Kacy Clemans had the club's other hits, a single each.

T.J. Zeuch made a rehab appearance, tossing four innings and giving up just a hit and a walk with seven strikeouts. Graham Spraker tossed 2 2/3 innings, giving up a hit and Brad Wilson came on with a runner on in the seventh to strike out the only batter he faced and earned a save.

Lansing Lugnuts 11, South Bend Cubs (CHC) 7

The low-A Lansing Lugnuts got back into the winner's circle, beating the South Bend Cubs 11-7.

Griffin Conine continues to show that he overmatches the Midwest League and went 4/5 with two home runs, a double, five RBI and three runs. Ryan Gold also hit two doubles, going 2/5 with two RBI and a run and Hagen Danner was 2/5 with a home run, two RBI and a run. Nick Podkul had two hits, going 2/4 with a double, an RBI and two runs while Reggie Pruitt was 2/4 with a walk and three runs. D.J. Neal was 1/5 with a stolen base and Jesus Severino was 1/4 with a walk.

Troy Miller went four innings but gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Joey Pulido cam eon to strike out five in four innings, giving up three hits and Cre Finfrock allowed two runs on two hits with a walk and one strikeout in the ninth.

DSL Blue Jays 8, DSL Reds 9

The DSL Blue Jays took a lead in the fourth inning, scoring six runs and adding another in the fifth, but they wouldn't score again and the DSL Reds came back to win 9-8, walking off in the bottom of the ninth.

Vincent D'Orazio led the offense, going 3/3 with a double, two walks and a run. Adrian Montero was 2/5 with two RBI and two runs, hitting a double and stealing a base. Yeison Jimenez came in for Gabriel Martinez and was 2/3 with a double, a triple, three RBI and a run. Leonel Callez was 1/4 with a double and a walk and Willfrann Astudillo was 1/2, was hit by two pitches and scored twice. Juan Pizarro was 1/5 with a run and an outfield assist and Amell Brazoban was 0/3 but walked and hit a sac fly.

Yaifer Perdomo started, giving up five runs in three innings, allowing seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Marc Civit gave up a hit and two walks, striking out one and Jorman Gonzalez gave up a hit with two strikeouts in two innings. Juan Martinez allowed a run without giving up a hit or a walk, hitting two batters and Winder Garcia allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and two walks with one strikeout in one inning. In the ninth, Gerardo Santana allowed a run on a hit.
