The Blue Jays' minor leaguers got just two wins in five games on Friday as the DSL Blue Jays got on the winning track and a starting pitcher in New Hampshire continued to roll.

Buffalo Bisons 3, Pawtucket Red Sox 7

The Buffalo Bisons (31-27) dropped their second consecutive game to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Friday night, losing 7-3. Cesar Valdez lost his first game as a Bison, going six innings and allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Wil Browning allowed another three runs on three hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning while Matt Dermody stranded two runners finishing the seventh and pitched a scoreless eighth, striking out three of the six batters he faced.

Dwight Smith, Jr. had a strong game, getting two of the Bisons' five hits and hitting his sixth home run of the year. Jason Leblebijian also had two hits and an RBI.

Roster Notes: Gregorio Petit was sent to Dunedin for a rehab assignment.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8, Akron RubberDucks 1

Chris Rowley continued his double-A domination as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats enjoyed an 8-1 victory over the Akron RubberDucks. Rowley went seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk with six strikeouts before handing the ball over to the bullpen. Alonzo Gonzalez allowed a hit in his inning and John Stilson struck out two, giving up one hit in his inning of work, nailing down the win.

The offense roared to life in support of Rowley, scoring eight times on 12 hits. Danny Jansen led the way with his first double-A home run, going 2/4 with a walk, and two runs. Richard Urena was 2/5 with an RBI and a run while Harold Ramirez is on a hot streak, going 2/4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs and Gunnar Heidt was 2/4 with two RBI. Matt Dean was on base three times, going 1/2 with two walks and Andrew Guillotte was 1/4 with a run and two stolen bases.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Bradenton Marauders 8

The Dunedin Blue Jays' losing streak was extended to nine games after an 8-4 loss to the Bradenton Marauders. Ryan Borucki had a rare bad outing, getting hammered for seven runs on seven hits and four walks with five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Ryan Cook ( 1 1/3 IP, 2 BB, 2 K), Kender Villegas (1 IP, 2 K), Josh DeGraaf (1 IP, 1 H, 1R, 1 HR), Richmond, B.C, native Tom Robson (1 IP, 1 H) and Jackson McClelland (1 IP, 1 H) combined to finish the game, giving up just one more run.

Cavan Biggio blasted a two-run home run and Gregorio Petit was 2/4 with a double and a walk in his rehab assignment but the offense was quiet aside from that, getting just three more hits including a double and a walk from Lane Thomas and a single and a walk from Bradley Jones.

Roster Notes: Gregorio Petit was assigned to Dunedin for rehab, Defierson Barreto was sent back to extended spring training.

Lansing Lugnuts 4, Fort Wayne TinCaps 5

The Lansing Lugnuts dropped a tight game as they opened their series in Fort Wayne, losing 5-4. The Lugnuts had just six hits including a solo home run from Edward Olivares who was 1/3 with a walk and stolen base. Christian Williams was 1/5 with two RBI and J.B. Woodman and Rodrigo Orozco were each 1/4 with a walk with both adding a stolen base. Vladimir Guerrero (Montreal, Que.) was 1/5 with a double and Bo Bichette didn't get a hit but walked twice.

Denis Diaz gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits (including a home run) and three walks despite six strikeouts. Andrew Deramo gave up a run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings and Connor Eller surrendered just a hit in his inning of work.

Player of the Game: Edward Olivares

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL D-backs 4

The DSL Blue Jays turned things around and got back onto the winning side of the ledger with a 10-inning, 5-4 win over the DSL D-backs squad. Right fielder Andres Martinez led the way, going 4/5 with a double and three RBI while Steward Berroa was 3/4 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases. Rafael Lantigua was 2/5 and Hector Guerrero was 2/5 with a run and a stolen base. Kenny Mauricio, playing DH, was also 2/5 with a double and an RBI.

Joi Concepcion had a solid start on the mound, going four innings and giving up one run on two hits with four strikeouts. Adolfo Molina tossed two, one-hit innings before Elixon Caballero allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk in two innings. Jhon Victorino walked two in one inning and Yunior Hinojosa gave up an unearned run in the 10th, earning the win.
