Roster Notes: Mallex Smith was activated by the Bisons. Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) was recalled by the Toronto Blue Jays.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 12, Hartford Yard Goats (COL) 0

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (42-45) opened their series with the Hartford Yard Goats by hammering them 12-0.

Chavez Young was a big slugger, going 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and three runs while Kevin Vicuna also had three hits, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run. Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs and Jordan Groshans was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs. Samad Taylor was 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs and Vinny Capra was 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run and a walk. L.J. Talley was 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and Chris Bec was 1-for-4.

On the mound, Johnny Barbato started, striking out five and giving up just one hit in three innings. Parker Caracci made his double-A debut, going two innings and striking out a pair, giving up a walk and two hits. Brody Rodning struck out three in the sixth, allowing a hit and Marcus Reyes struck out four in two innings, walking one. Emerson Jimenez finished it with a clean ninth.

Roster Notes: Jeremy Beasley was placed on the 7-day IL and Parker Caracci was promoted to New Hampshire from Vancouver.

Vancouver Canadians 5, Tri-City Dust Devils (LAA) 8

The Vancouver Canadians (41-50) opened their series with a loss, falling 8-5 to the Tri-City Dust Devils.

Spencer Horwitz had a huge game, going 4-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run while Tanner Morris was 2-for-5 with a run. Eric Rivera hit a double, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and Davis Schneider was also 1-for-4, as was Philip Clarke. Sebastian Espino was 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBI, scoring a run and Will Robertson was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Orelvis Martinez was 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run.

Alex Nolan (Burlington, Ont.) started, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits (one HR) with two walks and a strikeout over 2 1/3 innings. Justin Maese stranded both inheriteed runners, going 2 2/3 innings and allowing just two hits and two walks with two strikeouts before Gabriel Ponce allowed a hit and two walks over two innings, striking out one. Cobi Johnson walked one and struck out two in the eighth and Willy Gaston gave up two hits and a walk in the ninth but held the Dust Devils off the board.

Roster Notes: Thomas Ruwe was sent from Dunedin to Vancouver and Parker Caracci was sent from Vancouver to New Hampshire.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (MIN) 4

The Dunedin Blue Jays (40-50) fell 4-3 to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels on Tuesday to open their series.

Catcher Zach Britton was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI to lead the offence while Addison Barger was 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base. Steward Berroa was 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases and Miguel Hiraldo walked twice, going 0-for-3 with a stolen base. Garrett Spain was 1-for-4 with an RBI and Hugo Cardona was 1-for-4 with a stolen base.

Naswell Paulino started, striking out five in four innings and giving up three runs on five hits (one HR). Justin Kelly allowed a walk and struck out one in two innings and Harry Rutkowski allowed an unearned run on two hits with four strikeouts in two innings. Rafael Monsion finished the game with a clean ninth.

Roster Notes: Elieser Medrano was sent to the FCL from Dunedin and Thomas Ruwe was assigned to Vancouver from Dunedin.

FCL Blue Jays 2, FCL Tigers West 7

The FCL Blue Jays (16-16) came back after their two-day break with a 7-2 loss to the FCL Tigers West.

Rikelvin De Castro was 2-for-3 with two singles and two runs while Amell Brazoban was 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base. Jaden Rudd was 1-for-3.

Yaifer Perdomo started and struck out 11 batters in just four innings, allowing two hits and three walks. Guillermo Villasmil took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits and a walk in one inning and Winder Garcia surrendered a run on a solo home run and nothing else in the sixth. In the seventh, Kelvin Perez allowed three more runs on four hits (one HR).
