With the Dunedin Blue Jays playing a doubleheader and both Rookie level teams off on Wednesday, the Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliates were 2-3 in five games.
Buffalo Bisons 1, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (PHI) 7
The Buffalo Bisons (46-31) lost again to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs as the IronPigs built upon their margin of victory, winning 7-1 on Wednesday.
The Bisons had just four hits in this one with Tyler White going 1-for-4 with a double and Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) going 1-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Rodrigo Vigil was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run and Dilson Herrera was 1-for-3.
Anthony Kay started and was tagged for six runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and Patrick Murphy came on and struck out three with a hit and walk against. Connor Overton provided another scoreless inning of relief, walking one and striking out one and Bryan Baker surrendered an unearned run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Trent Thornton finished the game with a clean eighth.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1, Hartford Yard Goats (COL) 12
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (36-40) were thrashed by the Hartford Yard Goats 12-1 on Wednesday.
Starting was Johnny Barbato and he took a hit, giving up five runs on five hits (one HR) with one walk and one strikeout. Mike Ellenbest, who's normally been really solid for the Fisher Cats, allowed another five runs on four hits (one HR) with a walk in one inning and Adrian Hernandez surrendered another run on a hit (one HR) and two walks, despite striking out three in two innings. Emerson Jimenez couldn't stop the bleeding, giving up an unearned run on a hit and three walks in 1 2/3 innings and Graham Spraker finally kep the Yard Goats off the board (although he did allow one of two inherited runners to score), striking out three in 1 1/3 innings. Brandon Eisert allowed a hit and struck out one in the ninth.
The Fisher Cats had just five hits including two from Samad Taylor who was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Vinny Capra was 1-for-4 and Demi Orimoloye (Orleans, Ont.) was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk. Reggie Pruitt also had a hit and was 1-for-3.

Vancouver Canadians 3, Hillsboro Hops (ARI) 2
In a pitcher's duel with just nine hits between the two clubs, the Vancouver Canadians (37-43) came out on top, beating the Hillsboro Hops 3-2.
Tanner Morris had one the club's RBI, going 1-for-4 and Phil Clarke had a double, going 1-for-3. Davis Schneider hit a home run, going 1-for-3 with the solo blast and Luis De Los Santos was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run. Will Robertson was 1-for-3 with a run.
Adam Kloffenstein was on the mound, going 5 2/3 innings with just two runs allowed, giving up three hits (one HR) and three walks with seven strikeouts. Will McAffer (North Vancouver, B.C.) walked one and struck out three in 1 1/3 innings and Hagen Danner walked two and struck out one in a scoreless eighth. Cobi Johnson gave up a hit and struck out one to earn his second save.

Roster Notes: Gabriel Ponce, Andrew Bash and Orelvis Martinez were promoted from Dunedin to Vancouver. Sebastian Espino was placed on the 7-day injured list, 2021 sixth-round pick Hayden Juenger was assigned to the Vancouver Canadians and Adrian Hernandez and Brandon Eisert were promoted to New Hampshire.
Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (MIN) 4
The Dunedin Blue Jays (35-43) held on to beat the Fort Myers Might Mussels 5-4 in the first game of their doubleheader.
Mackenzie Mueller had a pair of hits and two RBI while Riley Tirotta, the Jays' 12th-round pick in 2021 had a 2-for-3 game in his pro debut, scoring twice and stealing a base. Steward Berroa was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI and Addison Barger was 1-for-4. PK Morris was 0-for-1 but walked twice and scored twice. Dasan Brown (Oakville, Ont.) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
Trent Palmer had one of his best starts as a pro, going five innings and allowing just one run on two hits with seven strikeouts, but most importantly, he didn't walk anyone. Justin Kelly, a Blue Jays non-drafted free agent, allowed three runs in his professional debut, giving up three hits (one HR) with a walk and a strikeout in one inning. The Jays' 13th-round pick, Matt Svanson, earned his first pro save, pitching the seventh and striking out one.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (MIN) 6
The Dunedin Blue Jays (35-44) finished off the doubleheader with a close 6-5 loss to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
Batting in the leadoff spot, Steward Berroa was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs, stealing two bases while Riley Tirotta had two more hits, going 2-for-3 with a run and a stolen base. Addison Barger hit his 12th home run of the year, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs while PK Morris walked two more times, going 1-for-2 with an RBI. Jose Rivas also had a hit, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Alejandro Melean struck out nine in just four innings, but he also allowed five runs on three hits (two HR) and three walks. Harry Rutkowski, a non-drafted free agent, struck out four in two innings and gave up a run on a hit (one HR) with a walk to take the loss.
