Blue Jays from Away
On Sunday, only the full-season Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliates were in action, going 2-2 with a couple of ugly losses in A-ball.
Buffalo Bisons 3, Syracuse Mets (NYM) 2
The Buffalo Bisons (44-25) pushed their record to 19 games above .500 with a narrow, come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Syracuse Mets.
The Bisons made the most of their four hits, getting back-to-back home runs from Kevin Smith (1-for-4, HR, RBI, R) and Tyler White (2-for-4, HR, RBI, R) while Richard Urena was 1-for-2 with a walk.
Bowden Francis started and was solid for the Bisons, going 5 2/3 innings and giving up two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Travis Bergen stranded both inherited runners, getting the final out of the sixth inning and Tyler Chatwood flirted with danger in the seventh, allowing a hit and two walks without giving up any runs. Jacob Waguespack finished it, earning the win, allowing just a hit and striking out three in the final two innings.

Roster Notes: Trent Thornton was recalled by the Blue Jays and Jonathan Davis was optioned to Buffalo.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Reading Fightin Phils (PHI) 1
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (31-37) finished up their series with the Reading Fightin Phils by beating them 3-1 in a well pitched game by Maximo Castillo.
Castillo went six innings, giving up a run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts, getting eight ground outs and just three fly outs. Sean Rackoski came on to pitch 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball, allowing a hit and striking out one. Brody Rodning finished the eighth, walking one and striking out one in 2/3 of an inning and Jon Harris got the save, pitching a clean ninth.
Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) had a pair of hits, going 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base while Jordan Groshans was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Austin Martin walked twice, going 0-for-1 with a stolen base and a run. L.J. Talley was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run and Samad Taylor was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Rodrigo Vigil had the club's other hit, going 1-for-3.

Vancouver Canadians 1, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 10
The Vancouver Canadians (33-39) didn't have an answer for the Everett AquaSox, falling 10-1 to end their week.
Ryan Gold had two of the club's six hits, going 2-for-4 with a double and triple, scoring the team's only run. Zac Cook drove him in, going 1-for-4 with a double. Rafael Lantigua (1-for-4), Tanner Morris (1-for-4) and Eric Rivera (1-for-4, SB) each had a hit.
Starter Paxton Schultz allowed seven runs, all in the fourth and all unearned, allowing five hits (one HR) and two walks with six strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Both runners that he left on scored after Willly Gaston came into the game and Gaston allowed two hits and four walkls with no runs of his own, striking out one in 2 1/3 innings. Roither Hernandez allowed two runs on two hits (one HR) with a walk and three strikeouts in two innings and Cobi Johnson finished the game, giving up a run on three hits in the ninth.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Lakeland Flying Tigers (DET) 17
The Dunedin Blue Jays (31-40) pitchers were running for their lives as the club got shelled 17-5 in a loss to the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
Nathanael Perez started and surrendered five runs on seven hits (one HR) with four strikeouts in four innings to take the loss while Geison Urbaez had his ERA demolished with six runs against in 1 2/3 innings, giving up three hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Elixon Caballero also had his ERA take a hit as he allowed four runs on four hits and a walk with one strikeout in just 1/3 of an inning. Jiorgeny Casimiri allowed two runs on three hits (one HR) with a walk and a strikeout in two innings and Juan De Paula had a scoreless ninth, walking one and striking out two.
Canadian Dasan Brown (Oakville, Ont.) hit his second home run of the season, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, two runs and a stolen base while Zach Britton was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. P.K. Morris was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI while Miguel Hiraldo was also 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Harrison Ray was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk and Jose Rivas was 1-for-4 with a run.
