On the Fourth of July, the Blue Jays' minor league affiliates lost three of four games.
Buffalo Bisons 5, Lehigh Valley IronPigs (PHI) 4
The Buffalo Bisons (31-21) beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on the fourth of July by a 5-4 score.
Wielding the big stick on the day was Rowdy Tellez who was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. The Bisons had just five other hits with Breyvic Valera going 1-for-4 with a run, Alejandro Kirk going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run, Christian Colon going 1-for-4, Richard Urena going 1-for-4 with a double and a run and Juan Graterol going 1-for-4.
T.J. Zeuch was solid on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings and wasn't charged for any earned runs (although three were unearned) as he allowed four hits (one HR) and a walk with five strikeouts. Joel Payamps vultured the win, going 2/3 of an inning, allowing a hit and striking out one before Patrick Murphy allowed a hit and a walk in his scoreless inning. Bryan Baker struck out two in the eighth and John Axford (Port Dover, Ont.) allowed a run on two walks with one strikeout in the ninth for the save.

Roster Notes: Jeremy Beasley and Travis Bergen were sent outright to Buffalo and Nick Allgeyer was optioned back to Buffalo.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4, Portland Sea Dogs (BOS) 9
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (23-28) got behind early after Simeon Woods Richardson, in his first start since being named to the 2021 US Olympic team, got shelled and the 'Cats couldn't recover, losing 9-4 to the Portland Sea Dogs.
Woods Richardson allowed six runs on nine hits (one HR) and one walk with one strikeout over three innings. Mike Ellenbest kept the Fisher Cats in the game with a heroic three innings of scoreless relief, allowing three hits and two walks with one strikeout. Cre Finfrock allowed two runs on one hit (a home run) and a hit batter, striking out one before coming out of the game with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. Will McAffer (North Vancouver, B.C.) came into the game, promptly gave up a solo home run and got the final two outs.
The Fisher Cat had six hits including two from Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) who was 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Vinny Capra had another big day, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a stolen base, and four RBI. Chavez Young was 1-for-3 with a double and a run while Samad Taylor was 1-for-4 with a run

New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Portland Sea Dogs (BOS)
Game 2 of the doubleheader was suspended in the top of the fourth inning and it is unknown when it will be made up.
Vancouver Canadians 4, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 7
The Vancouver Canadians (27-27) had their record evened as they fell 7-4 to the Everett AquaSox.
Johnny Aiello had a big game for the Canadians, notching two of the C's six hits, going 2-for-4 with his first home run of the year and adding a double and three RBI. Sebastian Espino also had two hits, including a double, going 2-for-4 with a run. Tanner Morris was 1-for-4 with a solo home run and Ryan Gold was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.
C.J. Van Eyk started on the mound and, despite striking out eight batters, he allowed five runs on two hits and four walks, leaving the bases loaded in the fifth after pitching 4 1/3 innings. Adrian Hernandez came on and allowed two of the three inherited runners to score, giving up two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings but didn't allow another run. Roither Hernandez went one inning, walking one and striking out one while Parker Caracci allowed two runs on three hits in the eighth inning.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Palm Beach Cardinals (STL) 7
The Dunedin Blue Jays (21-32) will be happy to see the backs of the Palm Beach Cardinals as they took another loss, finishing their series on the fourth of July by falling 7-4.
Shortstop Orelvis Martinez had a solid game, going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run while PK Morris continues to swing a hot bat, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run. Steward Berroa was 1/2 with two walks, a run and two stolen bases while Dasan Brown (Oakville, Ont.) (1-for-5, 2 RBI), Addison Barger (1-for-4) and Harrison Ray (1-for-4) each had a hit. Miguel Hiraldo was 0-for-3 but walked twice and scored.
Jol Concepcion couldn't get out of the first inning, throwing 45 pitches and getting just two outs, allowing four runs on four htis and three walks. Juan De Paula allowed another three runs (despite stranding the bases loaded), going 3 1/3 innings and giving up four hits (one HR) with two walks. Elixon Caballero allowed three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings and Jefferson Herrera allowed a hit and a walk with three strikeouts in the final two innings.
