Blue Jays from Away

The Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates had just three games played on Tuesday.

The Fisher Cats still can't scrape a team together (although they did just have several players added to their roster) and Dunedin was rained out. The remaining clubs were 2-1.

Buffalo Bisons 5, Rochester Red Wings (WAS) 4

The Buffalo Bisons (69-43) squeaked out a win over the Rochester Red Wings in a back-and-forth game, winning 5-4.

Right fielder Gregory Polanco had the big bat, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI and a run. Forrest Wall also had three hits, driving in three runs and stealing a base. Cullen Large was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run and Kevin Smith was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring a run. Richard Urena was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs and Kellin Deglan (Langley, B.C.) was 1-for-4.

Lefty Zach Logue had a strong start, allowing just two runs on four hits (one HR) without walking anyone and striking out seven through 5 2/3 innings. Dany Jimenez struck out three in 1 1/3 innings to get the win and Jacob Barnes allowed a run on two hits with one strikeout in the eighth. Bryan Baker got the save, giving up a solo home run in the ninth and striking out one.

Roster Notes: Curtis Taylor (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) and Reggie Pruitt were sent to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats from Buffalo.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Harrisburg Senators (WAS)

Game Cancelled due to Covid-19 Regulations.

Roster Notes: Andrew Bash, Anthony Morales, Spencer Horwitz, Rafael Lantigua, and Jose Ferrer were promoted to New Hampshire from Vancouver while Reggie Pruitt and Curtis Taylor were sent to NH from Buffalo.

Vancouver Canadians 4, Hillboro Hops (ARI) 7

The Vancouver Canadians (54-61) were somewhat undermanned as a large group of players were promoted to New Hampshire (likely to help fill out the roster to replace players on the injured list, probably who have tested positive for COVID-19), falling 7-4 to the Hillsboro Hops.

Addison Barger, up from Dunedin, was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run while Trevor Schwecke was 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and a run. Will Robertson was 1-for-4 with a run and Harrison Ray, also up from Dunedin was 1-for-4. Zac Cook was 0-for-3 but had an RBI on a sac fly.

Starter Adam Kloffenstein went six innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits (one HR) while striking out three. Justin Maese allowed a hit and a run over two innings, striking out two and Thomas Ruwe gave up a run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout in the ninth.

Dunedin Blue Jays, Clearwater Threshers (PHI)

Game postponed due to inclement weather.

Roster Notes: Colton Laws was sent to Dunedin from Vancouver on a rehab assignment and Rainer Nunez, Jose Rivas, and Adriel Sotolongo were sent to Dunedin from the FCL. PK Morris, Addison Barger and Harrison Ray were promoted to Vancouver while Jose Ferrer was sent to New Hampshire.

DSL Blue Jays 11, DSL D-backs1 4

The DSL Blue Jays (27-15) took a page out of the Toronto Blue Jays' book , scoring eight runs in the eighth inning to beat up on the DSL D-backs1 11-4.

DH Robert Robertis led the offensive attack, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a run. Manuel Beltre had a couple of hits, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two walks, a run and a stolen base while Leafar Yege was 2-for-2 with two walk, an RBI and a run. Yhoangel Aponte was 1-for-3 with two walks, two RBI and two runs and Yeuni Munoz was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run. Francisco Fajardo had a triple, going 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run. Jonathan Peguero was 1-for-5 with an RBI and Victor Arias was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run. Cristian Feliz was 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs.

Sergio Caruci went three innings, giving up two runs on three hits (one HR) with a walk and three strikeouts. Gabriel Ochoa went 2/3 of an inning, walking two and striking out one while Keiner Leon stranded the bases loaded, allowing a walk and striking out two in 1 1/3 innings. Francis Mercedes walked one and allowed a hit but struck out the side in the sixth while Jeury Hiciano allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout in the seventh. Jean Lopez finished the game, allowing a run on a hit and a walk with three strikeouts in the final two innings.
