Blue Jays from Away

The Toronto Blue Jays had all six of their minor league teams in action on Thursday night, including the New Hampshire Fisher Cats who played their first game in over a week. The clubs went 1-5 on the night.

Buffalo Bisons 3, Rochester Red Wings (WAS) 5

The Buffalo Bisons (70-44) fell 5-3 to the Rochester Red Wings on Thursday afternoon.

In the leadoff spot, Forrest Wall had a pair of singles, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run while Gregory Polanco was 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base. Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base and Cullen Large was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run. Nash Knight went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Starter Nick Allgeyer allowed five runs on five hits and two walks but two of those hits were home runs. He also struck out two over his five innings. The Buffalo bullpen took over, throwing three perfect innings to finish the game with A.J. Cole striking out one in his inning, Kirby Snead striking out the side in his and Kyle Johnston getting a 1-2-3 frame.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Harrisburg Senators (WAS) 4

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (49-55) played their first game in a week and fell 4-3 to the Harrisburg Senators, giving up the game in the bottom of the seventh.

Hugo Cardona had a pair of hits, going 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base while Kevin Vicuna had two singles, going 2-for-4. Chavez Young was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs, stealing a base and Nick Podkul was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Ryan Gold was also 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Spencer Horwitz was 1-for-4. Reggie Pruitt was 1-for-2 with a run.

Starter Maximo Castillo went five strong innings, giving up just a run on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts before James Dykstra pitched a 1-2-3 sixth. Curtis Taylor (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) walked three batters and got one out and all three came around to score as Connor Law allowed a hit in 1/3 of an inning.

Roster Notes: Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park, Alta.) was placed on the 7-day IL and Steward Berroa was promoted to New Hampshire from Dunedin.

Vancouver Canadians 3, Hillboro Hops (ARI) 7

The Vancouver Canadians (54-63) dropped another game to the Hillsboro Hops, falling 7-3 on Thursday.

The Cs had just four hits including a triple and a home run from Davis Schneider who was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Andres Guerra was 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run, taking a walk while Eric Rivera was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Starter Sem Robberse allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts in five innings. Hayden Juenger was outstanding in two innings of relief, walking one and striking out four while Roither Hernandez was tagged with the loss, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk with a balk and a wild pitch in 2/3 of an inning. Hagen Danner stranded the runner he inherited from Hernandez and struck out two in 1 1/3 innings.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Clearwater Threshers (PHI) 2

The Dunedin Blue Jays (55-62) couldn't get much offence going, falling 2-1 to the Clearwater Threshers.

Leonardo Jimenez had another two hits, going 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base while Rainer Nunez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Miguel Hiraldo stole a base, going 1-for-4 and Mackenzie Mueller was 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.

Starter Michael Dominguez had an outstanding start, allowing just one hit and striking out eight without walking anyone in six innings. Jefferson Herrera struck out one in the seventh and Hunter Gregory took the loss, giving up two runs on one hit and a hit batter, striking out one in the eighth. Connor Cooke allowed a hit and struck out one in the ninth.

Roster Notes: Gabriel Martinez was promoted to Dunedin from the FCL and Steward Berroa was promoted to New Hampshire from Dunedin.

FCL Blue Jays 12, FCL Tigers East 4

The FCL Blue Jays (25-27) may have lost to the FCL Tigers West on Wednesday, but they defeated the Tigers East on Thursday, winning 12-4 in a rain delayed and shortened game.

Canadian Damiano Palmegiani (Surrey, B.C.) went 2-for-2 with his second career home run and added a double, driving in six runs, taking a walk and scoring once. Fellow Canadian JC Masson (Levis, Que.) was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs. Angel Del Rosario was 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base while Jhon Solarte was 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs. Marcos De La Rosa was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs and Emmanuel Sanchez was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Mallex Smith was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base.

Starter Kendry Rojas tossed three perfect innings, striking out five and Marc Civit got the win but allowed four runs on three hits and a hit batter, giving up a home run and striking out two in two innings. Stephen Vargas finished the game, allowing a hit and striking out one in the final inning.

Roster Notes: Gabriel Martinez was sent to the Dunedin Blue Jays from the FCL Blue Jays.

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL White Sox 12

The DSL Blue Jays (27-16) fell 12-5 to the DSL White Sox on Thursday.

First baseman Francisco Fajardo was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Robert Robertis was 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Endri Garcia hit his first home run of the year, going 1-for-4 with the solo shot. Leafar Yege was 1-for-1 and Wilder Perez was 1-for-2 with a run.

Starter Eliander Alcalde gave up seven runs (six earned) on six hits and three walks, striking out two in three innings before Frank Medina allowed just two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in two innings. Darwin Cruz allowed two unearned runs on four hits with one strikeout in two innings and Nathanael Perez gave up three runs on three hits (one HR) with a walk in the final frame.
