Blue Jays from Away
In eight games on Saturday, the Blue Jays' minor league affiliates lost all eight.
Buffalo Bisons 5, Pawtucket Red Sox (BOS) 7
The triple-A Buffalo Bisons dropped their game with the Pawtucket Red Sox 7-5 in 10 innings.
Michael De La Cruz was 2/4 with a double, a home run and three RBI, scoring twice to lead the offence while Socrates Brito hit a solo home run, going 1/5. Bo Bichette was 1/4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases and Patrick Kivlehan was 1/5. Jordan Patterson and Andy Burns each had a single and a run with Burns adding a walk.
Sean Reid-Foley needed 89 pitches to throw four innings, walking five batters and striking out five, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits including a home run. Kirby Snead allowed three hits and a walk but no runs with three strikeouts in two innings and Jason Adam allowed a hit with two strikeouts in the seventh. Ty Tice allowed two more runs to the Red Sox, giving up three hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings and Buddy Boshers blew the save and took the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on a hit (including a home run) with one strikeout in one inning of work.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 9, Hartford Yard Goats (COL) 11
The double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats rallied in the top of the ninth and scored five runs to make the game close but still lost 11-9 to the Hartford Yard Goats.
Forrest Wall was 2/5 with a home run and a triple, driving in a run and scoring twice while Alberto Mineo was 4/5 with two RBI and two runs, hitting a double. Kevin Smith hit his third home run in the last two games, driving in one and scoring twice, adding a double and going 3/5. Chad Spanberger hit his 10th home run, going 2/5 with three RBI and a run while Christian Williams was 2/4 with a double and a run. Santiago Espinal was 2/5 with a double, an rBI and a run and Joshua Palacios was 2/5. Logan Warmoth was 0/4 with a sac fly, an RBI and three strikeouts.
Patrick Murphy started, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks but struck out seven over 4 1/3 innings. Willy Ortiz allowed six runs on six hits (including a home run) with one walk and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Vinny Nittoli allowed two more runs on two hits (including a home run) with two strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, St. Lucie Mets (NYM) 5
In Game 1 of the class-A Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays' doubleheader, Joey Murray took the loss as the St. Lucie Mets beat the Jays 5-2.
Murray allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings and Emerson Jimenez gave up the other three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk in the sixth. Connor Law finished with a 1-2-3 seventh.
Cullen Large was 2/4 with an RBI while Dalton Pompey (Mississauga, Ont.) was on base twice, going 1/3 with a walk and an RBI. Ryan Noda walked twice and Chavez Young, Kevin Vicuna and Samad Taylor were each 1/3 with a single. Cal Stevenson was 1/4 with a run and had an outfield assist.

Dunedin Blue Jays 0, St. Lucie Mets (NYM) 2
The St. Lucie Mets completed the sweep of the doubleheader, beating the Dunedin Blue Jays 2-0 in the second half.
Graham Spraker had a solid game, tossing 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits and three walks with five strikeouts. Jackson Rees struck out three, allowing one hit in 1 1/3 innings to finish the game.
The Blue Jays had just three hits with Cullen Large getting two of them and Kevin Vicuna hitting the other.

Lansing Lugnuts 4, Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN) 12
The low-A Lansing Lugnuts fell behind early and ultimately dropped their series opener with the Cedar Rapids Kernels 12-4.
Otto Lopez (Montreal, Que.) and John Aiello had two hits each with Aiello hitting a double and scoring a run and Lopez driving a run in and stealing a base. Reggie Pruitt was 1/4 while L.J. Talley was 1/4 with a run. Ryan Gold was 1/4 with a double and a run and Jake Brodt was 1/4 with a solo home run.
Juan De Paula was back with the Lugnuts and gave up seven runs on seven hits (including a home run) and two walks with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. Will McAffer (North Vancouver, B.C.) allowed a run on three walks with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings and Justin Watts allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks with three strikeouts in two innings. Marcus Reyes finished the game, facing one batter over the minimum over three innings, as a throwing error by Talley allowed all three runners he inherited from Watts to score. after that, he retired eight straight and struck out four.

Vancouver Canadians 2, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 6
The class-A Short-Season Vancouver Canadians lost again, falling 6-2 to the Everett AquaSox.
Tanner Morris had a pair of hits, going 2/4 with a solo home run while Mc Gregory Contreras was 2/4 with a double. Will Robertson was 1/4 with a double and Cameron Eden was 1/3 while Dom Abbadessa, coming in for Eden, was 1/1. Ronny Brito hit a solo home run and took a walk in the nine-slot in the order, going 1/2.
Juan Diaz started, allowing three runs on three hits (including a home run) and two walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Mike Pascoe took over, giving up just a walk over 1 1/3 innings, striking out two and Nicolas Medina allowed three runs on four hits (including a home run) with one strikeout in the eighth.

Bluefield Blue Jays 5, Princeton Rays (TB) 14
The pitching had a hard night as the Bluefield Blue Jays (Rookie Ball) allowed 14 runs in a 14-5 loss to the Princeton Rays.
Sam Ryan allowed only one run on four hits with a strikeout over the first three innings but Jared DiCesare gave up five runs on seven hits in the next three innings. Yunior Hinojosa allowed eight runs (four earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings and Aldo Ovando allowed a hit and two walks, allowing both inherited runners to score in 2/3 of an inning.
The Blue Jays had just six hits including two singles from Angel Camacho, a bases loaded double by D.J. Daniels (1/3) which drove in all three runs, a single and a triple from Steward Berroa (2/4) and a single from Andres Guerra (1/4, R). Eric Rivera walked twice and scored, going 0/2 and Patrick Morris walked twice and scored twice, also going 0/2.

GCL Blue Jays 5, GCL Phillies West 6
The GCL Blue Jays couldn't beat the Phillies West on Saturday, despite getting a start from a rehabbing minor leaguer from higher up in the system, losing 6-5.
Andrew Sopko allowed only three hits in three innings, striking out two before Warnel Valdez threw a 1-2-3 inning. Adrian Hernandez was hit for five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 2 1/3 innings and Eliezer Bello still have a save opportunity but allowed the runner he inherited from Hernandez to score before allowing a run of his own on two hits and two walks in one inning. Julian Valdez finished the game, getting the final two outs.
Jhon Solarte was 2/4 with two RBI while Javier D'Orazio had a double, driving in two runs, and scoring once. Yhon Perez was 1/3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs and Erickvi Celedonio was 1/4. Tanner Kirwer (Sherwood Park., Alta.) was on base twice, going 1/3 with a walk, an RBI and a run and Hugo Cardona was 1/5 with a run.
