The Lansing Lugnuts salvaged the Toronto Blue Jays' minor league affiliates' only win on Thursday, putting on a huge offensive display to beat the Lake County Captains.

Buffalo Bisons 2, Toledo Mud Hens 5

The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Buffalo Bisons 5-2 in Thursday afternoon action. Brett Oberholtzer made the start for Buffalo, going seven innings and giving up just three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Chad Girodo went 1/3 of an inning, walking one and giving up a hit before Wil Browning came in, stranding two inherited runners and giving up two runs of his own in 1 2/3 innings.

Jason Leblebijian was the offensive story for the Bisons, going 3/4 on the day. Christian Lopes had a rough day, going 1/4 but he made two errors at first base and was caught stealing. Rowdy Tellez hit a sacrifice fly and walked while Roemon Fields hit a triple and scored.

Roster Notes: Leonel Campos was promoted to Toronto and the Blue Jays signed minor league free agent Jose Mayorga and assigned him to Buffalo.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 0, Harrisburg Senators 1

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats outhit the Harrisburg Senators but the runs on the board skewed against them in a 1-0 loss. The Fisher Cats had just five hits including a double and a triple by Richard Urena, giving him seven hits in his last three games. Tim Lopes also had a pair of singles while Ryan McBroom was 1/4.

Shane Dawson (Drayton, Valley, Alta.) was excellent, allowing just one run on a solo home run among two hits and two walks in five innings but he took the loss. Justin Shafer went two innings, striking out one and John Stilson finished the game with a perfect eighth.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Jupiter Hammerheads 5

The Dunedin Blue Jays lost again, 5-3, to the Jupiter Hammerheads despite a couple of players on the major league roster getting into action on rehab assignments. The Blue Jays finally got a look at Rule 5 pick Glenn Sparkman who tossed 3 1/3 innings in his return from injury, allowing three hits and one walk, resulting in three unearned runs while striking out three. Ryan Cook went 2 2/3 innings, allowing a run while Philip Walby also allowed a run in two innings. Daniel Young gave up two hits and a walk but didn't allow anyone to score, striking out two in his inning.

Dalton Pompey (Mississauga, Ont.) was 0/2 with two walks and a run while Lane Thomas was 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Max Pentecost was 1/4 with a double and two RBI.

Roster Notes: The Blue Jays assigned Glenn Sparkman to the Dunedin Blue Jays for a rehab assignment.

Lansing Lugnuts 15, Lake County Captains 9

With their opponents scoring nine runs, the Lansing Lugnuts needed to get things into high gear and the offense certainly did, rapping out 21 hits and 15 runs in a 15-9 win over the Lake County Captains. Yeltsin Gudino tallied the most hits and RBI, going 4/6 with a double, three RBI and two runs. Christian Williams was 3/4 with two walks, four runs, a home run and two RBI while Edward Olivares hit the club's other home run, going 2/4 with a walk, three runs and two RBI. J.B. Woodman was 3/6 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. (Montreal, Que.) was 3/6 with an RBI and two runs. Bradley Jones (2/6, R, RBI), Jake Thomas (2/5, 2 BB, R) and Ridge Smith (2/5, 2B, BB, RBI) also had two hits each.

Andy Ravel gave up two home runs among nine hits over five innings, surrendering six runs but walked just one and struck out four. Tayler Saucedo went two innings of one-hit ball while Zach Jackson allowed two runs in the eighth and Jackson McClelland allowed one run in the ninth.

Roster Notes: Justin Maese was placed on the 7-day DL and Griffin Glaude was activated.
