With five games on the schedule for Tuesday, the Blue Jays' minor leaguers had a very strong day, winning four out of five with the Buffalo Bisons taking the only loss and a couple of rehabbing major leaguers contributing to a win in Dunedin.

Buffalo Bisons 5, Gwinnett Braves 6

The Buffalo Bisons attempted to rally against the Gwinnett Braves as they opened their series on the road but a two-run rally in the top of the eighth was not enough as they fell 6-5. Dwight Smith, Jr. had a huge game for the Bisons, however, going 3/4 with a walk and his fourth home run of the season, driving in four. Rowdy Tellez was 1/4 with a triple and a walk while Roemon Fields was 1/3 with a double, a walk and two runs.

T.J. House took the loss, evening his record at 4-4 by going five innings and allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits (including a home run) and two walks with three strikeouts. Wil Browning went 1 2/3 innings, giving up two hits and two walks but was saved a bit by Chris Smith who stranded the two runners Browning left on. In total, Browning allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two in 1 1/3 innings.

Roster Notes: Mike Ohlman was sent outright to Buffalo after clearing waivers.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Portland Sea Dogs 2

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats opened their doubleheader with the Portland Sea Dogs winning 5-2 thanks a well-rounded offensive effort and a strong pitching performance. Jon Harris started for the Fisher Cats and got the win, throwing six of the seven innings, giving up just a solo home run to account for the scoring off of him. That home run was among seven hits that Harris permitted. He also struck out three batters. Dusty Isaacs allowed a run in the seventh, finishing off the game.

Emilio Guerrero blasted his third home run but he was among seven Fisher Cats who got hits and the other two had at least one walk. While Guerrero was 1/3 with two RBI, Andrew Guillotte was 3/3 with a double, a run and a stolen base in his first game in double-A.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Portland Sea Dogs 2

The Fisher Cats completed their doubleheader sweep with a 3-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs thanks to a sacrifice fly by Richard Urena to score Emilio Guerrero in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jonathan Davis hit his third home run of the year, driving in two and taking a walk while J.C. Cardenas, starting at second base, was 2/3 with a run. Guerrero was 1/2 with a walk and Harold Ramirez had the club's only other hit.

Kender Villegas started the game and went three solid innings, allowing a run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout. Josh DeGraaf also tossed three innings, walking three but giving up only one hit with three strikeouts. Andrew Case (Saint John, New Brunswick) blew the save, allowing a run in the top of the seventh but held on for an addition scoreless inning to earn the win.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Fort Myers Miracle 2

The Dunedin Blue Jays rebounded from their loss on Monday with a 3-2 win over the Fort Myers Miracle, getting contributions from a couple of players on the 40-man roster. Troy Tulowitzki was 1/4 with a solo home run while Josh Donaldson was 2/3 with a walk and an RBI. Lane Thomas also had two hits, going 2/4 with an RBI and an outfield assist and Max Pentecost was on base twice, going 1/3 with a walk and a run but committed two errors playing first base.

On the mound, Ryan Borucki had another strong outing, going six innings and giving up two runs on six hits (including a two-run home run) but he didn't walk anyone and struck out five. Tom Robson (Richmond, B.C.) had a solid inning and a third while Danny Young picked up his second save in 1 2/3 frames.

Lansing Lugnuts 5, Lake County Captains 3

The Lansing Lugnuts didn't score in bunches like they can but their five runs were enough to beat the Lake County Captains 5-3. The Lugnuts had just six hits, getting a double, a sac fly and two RBI from Christian Williams, a triple and a run from Edward Olivares and a single and a walk from Andres Sotillo. Jake Thomas (1/4) and Yeltsin Gudino (0/1) each had an RBI.

Patrick Murphy made a couple of pitches that he must wish he had back, allowing two home runs but the damage only amounted to three runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Daniel Lietz picked up the win, going 2 1/3 innings of hitless ball, walking one and striking out four before Jackson McClelland saved his eighth game of the year, giving up a hit and striking out one in the ninth.
