Jays' Karunaratne named to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40

An impactful and results-oriented leader, Anuk Karunaratne, Executive Vice President of Business Operations at the Toronto Blue Jays, has been selected as a recipient of the coveted Sports Business Journal Forty Under 40 award for the Class of 2023.

The announcement was made earlier this morning by SBJ.

A thought leader in the Canadian sports landscape, he joined the Blue Jays in 2017 as Vice President of Strategy & Analytics and quickly expanded his portfolio. Over the past six seasons, he has established leading analytics capabilities, fan insights, and strategic planning, while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Most recently, he co-led the $300 million renovations at Rogers Centre to modernize the fan experience and create world-class player facilities.

With an impressive business acumen, he has diversified the Blue Jays revenue streams and is a driving force behind partnerships and ticketing for Canada’s lone Major League Baseball team.

A married father of two, Anuk received the news about the award on his 40th birthday.
