Box Score

Sean Duncan (Port Coquitlam, BC) toed the rubber for the Junior National Team to start, striking out three over two innings but falling victim to a two-run homer that gave the Blue Jays the early lead.

Justin Rompré (Sainte-Anne-De-La-Perade, Que.), who’s been productive all camp, drove in a run with a double to centre field in the fourth to get the Canadians on the board.

Finn Hoeschen (North Vancouver, BC) and Philip Cheong (Richmond Hill, Ont.) added doubles of their own in the fifth and sixth innings.

William Labonte (Okotoks, Alta.) struck out four over 2 2/3 innings of relief, while Noah Powell (North York, Ont.) picked up a pair of strikeouts over the final three innings.

Elliott Lascelles (Toronto, Ont.) would spark the Juniors’ offence again in the eighth with a leadoff triple, before a Gino De Santis (Chatham, Ont.) sacrifice fly made it 6-2.

The Junior National Team finished the Extended Spring Training Camp with a 3-5 record. They will now take a short pause and reconvene for the Dominican Pro Tour from May 13-21.
