JNT Spring Training: Team Red, Team Grey play to 3-3 tie

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Junior National Team was back in action on Sunday, as Team Red and Team Grey played to a 3-3 tie in the second intersquad game of the Spring Training camp.

Team Red scored three runs on three hits while Team Grey notched three runs on seven hits

Deiten Lachance (Sherbrooke, Que.) collected three hits and scored a run for Team Grey, while Benito Bonilla (Halifax, N.S.) led the Team Red, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run. Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) collected the only other extra base hit of the game as he smashed a one-out double in the bottom of the first inning.

All five pitchers in the game made their Junior National Team debut. Ryan Press (Toronto, Ont.) was the starter for Team Grey. He worked three innings and allowed only one earned run and two hits while striking out three. Will Hynes (Mississauga, Ont.) was tagged with an earned run on a pair of hits while striking out two in his 2 1/3 innings of work. Sean Duncan (Port Coquitlam, BC) was the last man out of the bullpen. He permitted a run on four hits in 1 1/3 innings while fanning a pair.

Anthony Deblois (Saint-Isidore, Que.) was outstanding for Team Red, allowing only a hit and a walk and striking out three in three scoreless innings. Jacob Wallace (Pincourt, Que.) also had a great outing, working four scoreless frames, giving up just one hit and striking out three.
