The pitching staff for the Junior National Team program carried Saturday's momentum to the mound limiting the Chicago Cubs DSL squad to only six hits and one run in a 3-1 win.
Carson Lumley (London, Ont.) was the first on the mound for the Juniors, working three complete innings, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out three. His performance was followed by another scoreless outing by Carson Latimer (Delta, BC) who also went three innings, permitting only one hit and a walk while striking out three.
Jack Pineau (Thunder Bay, Ont.) was the closer for the JNT going three solid innings with four strikeouts, giving up only a hit and a solo homerun that would represent the entire offensive effort for the Cubs.
Sam White (Aurora, Ont.) kicked things off for the Juniors on offence in the first inning with an RBI single to give the Juniors the early lead. Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) continues his hot streak at the dish going 1-for-2 with a triple and a pair of walks. Keegan O'Hearn (Oshawa, Ont.) also collected a hit in three at bats and received a free pass.
