The Junior National Team lost 6-4 loss to the USA Baseball National Team Development Program (White) squad in their first exhibition game of the Pan-Am Qualifier Selection Camp on Friday.

The Canadians scored four runs on seven hits and seven walks.

Third baseman/DH Anthony Clavet (Québec, Que.) led the Juniors offence with a hit and three RBIs.

First baseman Leo Cote (Ayer’s Cliff, Que.) also had a hit and an RBI, while Dante Smith (Ajax, Ont.) also had a strong game, going 1-for-2 with two runs out of the leadoff spot.

On the mound, two pitchers excelled in their Junior National Team debuts. Right-hander Keegan Russell (Whitby, Ont.) and left-hander Logan Forgie (Ottawa, Ont.) tossed two scoreless innings each in relief, combining for five strikeouts over the last four innings.
