The Junior National Team ended their Dominican Fall Instructional League Camp on a high note with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals DIL team.

Box Score

After a scoreless first inning, the Royals tallied the game’s first run in the second on a sacrifice fly, but the Junior National Team answered right back in the top of the third inning. Esteban Dessureault (Trois-Rivières, Que.) led off with a walk, setting the stage for a game-tying single by Taye Thierman (Calgary, Alta.).

Elliot Lascelles (Toronto, Ont.) gave the Juniors the lead with an RBI single in the fourth.

Jordan Jacob (Maple, Ont.) and Quinn Carson (Oakville, Ont.) had two hits each in the contest for the Juniors.

On the mound, Austin Blair (Victoria, BC) and Walker Kokotailo (Surrey, BC) split the pitching duties early on, limiting the Royals to one run on four hits and striking out three in a combined 5 2/3 innings.

Adyn Schell (Toronto, Ont.) then took over and allowed just one run in three innings to pick up the win.
