Box Score

The Canadian squad outhit their opponents eight to seven and were flawless in the field.

The Angels scored a run in the top of the second inning, but that was all they would get off JNT starter Matthew Brown (Carlisle, Ont.) who had a strong three-inning performance in which he struck out two batters.

Lachlan Harrison (Mississauga, Ont.) was first out of the bullpen, allowing only one hit, a two-run homer, and three walks while fanning a pair of batters in two innings. Benjamin Soke (New Maryland, N.B.) came into the game and pitched three scoreless innings to record the save. Soke allowed two hits and two walks, while also collecting a pair of strikeouts.

The offence was sparked by the shortstop Tyrus Hall (Victoria, BC) who finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Cam Macleod (North Vancouver, BC) also collected a pair of hits, including a double, and three RBIs.

Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) provided a big blow in the bottom of the sixth when he smashed a solo home run to extend the JNT lead to 6-3. Ty Hamilton (Orleans, Ont.) also had an extra base hit, an RBI and scored two runs.
