Frers, Jones, Naylor lead juniors to tie with Brewers

The Junior National Team got off to a hot start in the top of the first inning capped off by a Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) two-RBI double to give the Juniors the early lead in the game.
Jérémy Pilon ( Vallyfield, Que.) started the game on the mound for the JNT putting up five innings of work allowing six earned runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking three batters.
Nick Frers (North Vancouver, BC) came in out of the bullpen to shut the door on the Brewers’ offence in the sixth, working a total of four scoreless innings allowing only three hits while striking out six.
The Juniors completed their comeback in the top of the ninth manufacturing three runs to tie the score at seven at piece. Josh Jones ( Blainville, Que.) smashed a two-out single to centre field after the Brewers issued a couple of walks to set the stage for the Juniors’ shortstop. Tyrus Hall (Victoria, BC) reached on an error that allowed Ty Hamilton (Orleans, Ont.) to score the tying run.
