Karosas named Terriers' College Player of the Week

Infielder AJ Karosas was a sparkplug in the University of Charleston lineup during a four-game sweep of Davis & Elkins College.

Karosas (Mississauga, Ont.) opened the series with a hit, two RBIs and a stolen base in a 15-5 win.

In a 12-7 Game 2 victory, he collected two hits, walked twice and drove in a run.

He stayed hot in a 16-4 Game 3 win, going 2-for-3 with two walks and a RBI.

To cap his week, and help secure the series sweep, he went 3-for-4 with a walk.

Five of his hits in the four-game set were doubles.

Honourable Mentions

It was a successful five-game stretch for Parkland College's Austin Gomm as he hit two home runs as part of a nine hit performance. He went 3-for-6 with a home run and two stolen bases in the Cobras’ 12-7 win over South Suburban to open the week. To close it out, he collected two hits, including a home run and walked in a victory over Danville Area Community College.

Matt Torresan produced nine hits, walked three times, drove in two and stole four bases for Iowa Lakes Community College. He went 3-for-5 with a home run and a walk in a 19-9 loss to Southwestern.

Matt Brown worked seven innings and surrendered four runs (two earned) on seven hits in St. Petersburg College's 10-2 loss to Polk State. He walked three and fanned six.

Lefty Connor O'Halloran was strong out of the bullpen for the Michigan Wolverines in Game 2 of their series with Rutgers. He picked up his sixth win by lasting six innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts.

Speaking of Rutgers, catcher Hugh Pinkney had three hits, a walk and a RBI in the three-game series.

Lucas Earle worked 1 2/3 innings and yielded one hit, a run and struck out one for Allan Hancock in a win over Pasadena City.

Ryan O'Halloran amassed three hits, a walk and two RBIs in Butler's series with Villanova.

Infielder Tyler Offman stroked a hit and drove in two in New York University's 9-4 Game 1 loss to Case Western Reserve University.

Another Charleston Golden Eagle, right-hander Owen MacNeil, picked up the win in Game 4 of their series with Davis & Elkins by working two innings of relief.
