TORONTO – Jaycob Lachance and Quebec Blue stayed undefeated in Tournament 12 action after their 7-1 victory over Futures Navy at Rogers Centre on Sunday morning.

Lachance started and dominated for Quebec. The 6-foot right hander from Ste. Anne de la Perade did not allow a hit or a run and struck out five in his four innings of work.

Outfielder Nicolas Tremblay scored two runs for the 3-0 club that has clinched a spot in Monday’s semi-finals.

“We are pitching the ball really well. We are hitting really well,” LaChance said, after the game.

He credits the teams’ dominance to chemistry.

“We had a camp to (construct) this team, and when we came here it is the same team that went to the Canada Cup (in early August, at Moncton, New Brunswick).”

Tristan Aspeck started off the scoring for Quebec in the first, coming home on a ground ball.

An inning later, Philippe Breton singled off Connor O’Halloran, helping Simon Menier to score on the play giving Quebec the 2-0 lead.

Futures Navy (1-2) quickly fell behind as they struggled at the plate against Quebec pitching.

It was in the fifth inning when Quebec’s Justin Humenay took over the mound that the Futures Navy began to find a little success. Joshua Jones scored on Owen Caissie’s single line drive making the game 2-1.

However, in the next inning two walks gave Quebec the opportunity to extend the lead, off Jack Seward, and Conor Pote, Quebec Blue took advantage. Tremblay scored on Cedric De Grandpre’s line drive single for the second run of the inning, and it opened the gates.

Jason Begin, and Alexis Gravel added a run in the sixth.
