Terriers: One year ago the Ontario Terriers led all teams feeding the Canadian Junior National Team.

Dean Dicenzo (Hamilton, Ont.) watched proudly as Junior coach selected INF Austin Gomm (Mississauga, Ont.), LHP Connor O’Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) and INF-OF Elijha Hammill (Oakville Ont.).

Now this spring Austin Gomm is no longer age eligible for the junior team, but will head south for the Ontario Terriers. Taking his place is C Tyson Gomm (Mississauga, Ont.) and they will be joined by O’Halloran and Hammill.

This month four Terrier teams will escape the cold and snow by playing at Baseball City in St. Petersburg, Fla. The parks are located at 7901 30th Ave. N St. Petersburg, FL 33710.

LHP Connor O’Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) will pitch for his Ontario Terriers and the Canadian Junior National Team this spring.

RHP Theo Millas (Burnaby, BC), of the Langley Blaze, is ready for his annual trip south to Arizona.

BLAZE ARIZONA BOUND: The Langley Blaze will head south again this spring. And to start things off they will play the annual Wayne Norton memorial game. Norton (Port Moody, BC) scouted for the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles and helped start the National Baseball Institute.

The late Norton was a two-time winner of the Canadian Baseball Network’s scout of the year Jim Ridley award and was inducted in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

Plenty of recruiters and pro scouts will be on hand to see the likes of RHP Theo Millas (Burnaby, BC), who has committed to LSU and LHP Justin Thorsteinson (Langley, BC), who is headed to Oregon State if he does not sign.

Doug Mathieson and Jamie Bodaly will have a group of high schoolers from BC and elsewhere face first and second-year pros, as well as college teams.
