SEATTLE, Wash. – Indiana baseball (7-7) dropped its final game of the weekend in Seattle to the San Diego Toreros by a score of 5-3 on Sunday afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers found themselves in a hole from the get-go, as two HBPs, a single and an error led to three runs for USD in the top of the first.
• Sophomore Cole Barr led off the bottom of the second with a solo home run to cut the lead to 3-1.
• In the bottom of the third inning, junior Jeremy Houston hit a leadoff double off the wall in left. Then with two outs, senior Matt Lloyd (Okotoks, Alta.) drove him in on a single up the middle to make it a one-run game.
• After surrendering an unearned run in the top of the sixth, IU got that run back in the bottom half as Lloyd homered to right for the second time this weekend.
NOTES
• Lloyd's sixth inning home run marked the second of the year for him (both this weekend) and the 22nd of his career at Indiana. He finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
• The home run for Barr in the second inning is his team-high fifth of the season. He has now reached base in a career-high 11-straight games.
• Sophomore Connor Manous was strong out of the bullpen, as he tossed four innings of relief allowing no hits and striking out two.
• With a leadoff single in the bottom of the first inning, Gorski extended his hitting streak to nine games.
