Official Intercounty Baseball League News Release

Mississauga, Ont. - The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced on Thursday that London's starting pitcher Pedro De Los Santos is the Rawlings IBL Player of the Month for July.

During the first month of the season the veteran left-hander from the Dominican Republic posted a 4-0 record with an ERA of just 0.56.

In his four starts, he recorded a shutout, logged 32 innings, struck out 28, and gave up just 15 hits. The London Majors are in second place, just a half-game back of the league-leading Kitchener Panthers.

London has eight wins, and De Los Santos has been the winning pitcher in half of their victories.

The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) is the top-level baseball league in Canada, boasting ex-major league professional and elite NCAA college baseball players. The 2021 season will mark the IBL’s 102nd in operation. The IBL is one of the longest continuously operated baseball leagues in the world and serves as a valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff. More than 40 IBL players have advanced to Major League Baseball or returned to the IBL following their MLB careers. The league is comprised of teams from Barrie, Brantford, Kitchener, London, Toronto, Guelph, Welland, and Hamilton.
