Lumbard, Thompson, Tocheniuk re-sign with Dawgs

Okotoks Dawgs

The Okotoks Dawgs have re-signed catcher Caleb Lumbard, right-hander Quinn Tocheniuk and right-hander Seth Thompson for the 2023 season.

Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) - Catcher, Okanagan College (Sr.)

Lumbard had a solid year for the Dawgs last summer. In 26 regular season games, he hit .296 with four doubles and two home runs with 15 RBIs and 20 runs. Lumbard was also outstanding defensively, committing only one error in 196 2/3 innings behind the plate.

Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.) - RHP, Rogers State University (Jr.)

Tocheniuk was outstanding for the Dawgs in 2022, working primarily out of the bullpen. In 25 appearances, including one start, Tocheniuk threw 31 1/3 innings and posted a stingy 0.86 ERA while collecting 22 strikeouts.

Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) - RHP, Chandler-Gilbert Community College (So.)

Thompson showed flashes of dominance in 2022. During the regular season, he made 23 appearances and finished with an even 20 innings pitched. In those 20 innings, Thompson had a 5.40 ERA while striking out 17 batters. Look for Thompson to step up this summer as he comes back another year stronger and more experienced.
