LONDON – In the first London Majors game at Labatt Memorial Park in 376 days and the first game at Labatt Park in 2020, the London Majors defeated the visiting Guelph Royals 3-0.

Labeled the Legacy Classic, the mid-August showdown allowed for Labatt Memorial Park to continue its streak as the longest continuously used ballpark in the world at 144 years.

Owen Boon was solid for the Majors going six innings, striking out nine and allowing five hits. The Majors staff held the Royals scoreless with 11 strikeouts combined and only five hits.

Guelph starter Evans Kiser went two innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two and walking one.

London’s Cleveland Brownlee was the different maker going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Adding an RBI for the Majors was Julian Johnson who went 1-for-2 with a double.

Jeff MacLeod was the Guelph Royals biggest offensive threat going 2-for-3 with a walk and a double.
