Official Intercounty Baseball League News Release

The Intercounty Baseball League has selected Hayden Jaco of the London Majors has been named Rookie of the Year and the recipient of the Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy.

The award is presented annually to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the IBL as determined in a vote of IBL directors.

Jake Wilson of Barrie finished second, followed by Hamilton's Ryan Burnside, and Welland's Griffin Keller.

The IBL will announce the league MVP and recipient of the John Bell Trophy on Monday.

Jaco (Coquitlam, B.C.) recorded a .379 average with six doubles, two triples, and four home runs. Appearing in 26 games with the Majors, the eventual Dominico Cup Champion also recorded 19 RBIs and 154 put-outs as a catcher.

Prior to joining the Majors, the former Cameron University student finished his collegiate career during the 2019 season, batting .314 which was second on his team to go along with 36 RBIs in 50 games played.
