Official Intercounty Baseball League Release

LONDON – The London Majors moved one win from clinching the Dominico Cup with a 6-4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 3 of the IBL championship Tuesday night at Labatt Park.

Humberto Ruiz went 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run to lead the Majors, who can wrap up the title Thursday in Toronto. Cleveland Brownlee singled, doubled and drove in two, Hayden Jaco added an RBI, and Austin Wilkie went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Eduardo Perez (1-0) went seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Lucas Kelley struck out four of the last five batters to earn his first save of the playoffs.

For Toronto, Marcus Knecht and Johnathan Solazzo each had two hits and a home run. They combined to drive in three and score twice. Justin Marra went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Zach Sloan (0-1) went 4 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on 11 hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
