Marks earns Big South All-Academic Honours

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USC Upstate baseball's Jordan Marks has been named to the 2020 Big South All-Academic Team..
Marks, a Bright's Grove, Ontario native, boasts a 3.92 GPA in business administration and is one of baseball's SAAC representatives.
"Jordan is a true student-athlete. He excels in the classroom and on the field," said head coach Mike McGuire. "He works very hard in both areas and gets results."
The junior right-hander finished the brief season with a 3-1 record as Upstate's Friday night ace. He struck out 29 batters in 25 2/3 IP on the year, both second-most in the Big South. He also posted a 1.75 ERA and allowed just three walks. Marks threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts on opening day and later struck out 10 WKU batters in six innings for his third win of the year. He appeared in D1 Baseball's 2020 rankings for top pitchers and top prospects.
The Big South Baseball All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria of having completed at least one academic year at the institution, maintains at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and is of sophomore standing (academically and athletically). The team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award are selected by the Big South Conference Sports Information Directors. This year's team combined for a 3.79 GPA, and is as follows:
