Mississauga North, Oshawa advance to 21U nationals, 3rd spot up for grabs

Good news for Mississauga North Tigers and the Oshawa Legionnaires.

Both have advanced to the 21U Baseball Canada championships from Aug. 16-to-19 in St. Thomas, Ont.

And maybe ... good news for either Burlington Bulls or the Windsor Selects.

The 2018 Baseball Ontario Junior Eliminations was hit hard by Mother Nature Sunday during game 41 of 43 scheduled games at historic Kinsmen Stadium where Jim Lutton used to rule with an iron hand.

Rains cancelled the bronze medal game in the top of the fifth inning with Burlington leading Windsor 5-4. The winner of the bronze medal also advances.

The championship final between Mississauga North and Oshawa was cancelled as well.

The two games will be re-scheduled for next Saturday at Kinsmen Stadium:

_ The bronze game which will decide the third team to advance to Nationals will be resumed from where it was stopped. Game time 2pm at the Stadium.

_ The championship Game will go at 11am on Saturday, as Mississauga North and Oshawa will play for the Ontario title.
