The Toronto Blue Jays are excited to announce the appointment of MIKE MORDECAI to the position of quality control coach on the Major League coaching staff.

MORDECAI, 50, is entering his eighth season with the Blue Jays organization and last season was the assistant field coordinator. Mordecai joined the Blue Jays as a minor league Infield Coordinator in 2010 before his promotion to the position of coordinator of instruction in 2015.

The Birmingham, Ala., native coached with Houston Academy High School in 2006 before starting his professional coaching career with the Blue Jays. Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 1989, Mordecai had a 12-year playing career in MLB with two World Series Championships.
