National Championships: Champions are crowned!
After four intense days of competition fans are celebrating as their favorite teams have been awarded the title of national champions.
DQ® 13U National Championship:
The bronze medal game in Woodstock was opposing Quebec Blue and Nova Scotia. Taking the lead in the first inning and having a powerful offence, Quebec Blue won the bronze medal 7 to 1.
Ontario took home gold with a perfect record of 6 wins and 0 loses in the tournament. They defeated British Columbia 8 to 5 who wasn’t able to recover from Ontario’s early lead and 9 total hits.

Ray Carter Cup (15U Championship):
Scoring five runs in the 5th inning, British Columbia took back the lead from Oshawa and won the game 5 to 2 which awarded them the bronze medal.
The Gold medal game was a much more tight game. As Saskatchewan and Ontario battled until the end to be crowned National Champions. Its Jake Heaton’s walk-off single, that gave Ontario the lead and the 3 to 2 gold medal win in the bottom of the eighth inning.

16U Girls Invitational:
The bronze medal game in Bedford, N.S., was a high scoring affair who kept fans on the edge of their seats. Alberta gave their best effort to come back from their 5 points deficit but fell 1 point short and were defeated 15 to 14 by Ontario.
Quebec won with a much more convincing score of 10 to 4 in the gold medal game against Nova Scotia 1. Hagiepetro, Gagné, Fournier and Lacroix each have multiple hits and helped their team become National Champions.

Men's Championship:
Both medal games were tight affaires in Victoria, B.C. The game between New Brunswick and Tecumseh was tied 1-1 until Eric Cunningham hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh. The home run gave his team, Tecumseh, the lead, a 2-1 win over New Brunswick and a bronze medal.
It was a great game in Victoria as both British Columbia battled in their own province for the title of National Champions. Ultimately is was British Columbia who took home the gold medal being able to keep the lead they established in the first inning. The host team, Victoria, was awarded the silver medal after a 4 to 2 lost.
