Uher, Swaby, Ainsworth, Montanaro, lead Canuck crew of incoming Juco freshmen
Toronto Mets RHP Alex Uher (Pickering, Ont.) heads to the Northwest Florida State Raiders as the top ranked incoming Canadian JUCO player, according to Perfect Game.

Alex Uher’s season began with a compliment.
The Toronto Mets right-hander was selected to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason All-American and All-Region First Team for the Canada/Puerto Rico region. He was one of seven Canucks listed on the top 400 rated newcomers.
And now that the season has ended, RHP Uher (Pickering, Ont.) was named the 36th best incoming freshman to junior colleges, according to Perfect Game. The Toronto Mets RHP is headed to the Northwest Florida State Raiders.
Uher pitched at the Junior National Showcase for Team Navy, allowing one run in two innings on three hits, while he fanned three at Marietta, Ga. in 2024.
Pitching at the 17U PG Ohio Valley Invitational championship in Cincinnati in 2023, he hit 91 MPH, and permitted one earned run on three hits and three walks as he fanned eight in five innings. At the 2023 WWBA 2024 Grads or 17U National Championship in East Cobb Ga. he was touched for one run on one hit and five walks. He struck out 10 in six innings.
Uber’s Mets teammate RHP Ethan Swaby (Toronto, Ont.) and C Gianluca Montanaro (Aurora Ont.) are also on the list along with RHP Seth Ainsworth (Sarnia, Ont.) of the Great Lake Canadians, OF Will Polanco-Ethier (Laval Que.) of the Les Associés de Laval, C Brycen Brittain (St. Catharines Ont.) of the Ontario Royals and 1B Jericho Morris-Johns (Stouffville Ont.) of the Ontario Blue Jays.
