OBJ LANDS BRAND NEW FACILITY IN MISSISSAUGA

The Ontario Blue Jays are moving into a new home in Mississauga, Ont.

The new facility, The Athletes Turf, is a brand-new state of the art training facility that will allow us to make a seamless move in order to carry on with and improve our development model that Ontario Blue Jays players and families have become accustomed to since 1996.

This arrangement between Athlete’s Turf and Ontario Blue Jays allows us to focus on the growth and development of the organization, while benefitting from moving into a purpose-built facility that’s ready for us to make it our own.

Beginning May 1, we will begin our weight-room renovations and minor alterations to the turf and cage areas to suit our training model’s needs. Interior and exterior branding and graphics are already in the works with plans for administrative areas to be executed in the spring and summer.

While we will miss the Athlete Matrix, but our brand-new home at the Athlete’s Turf brings a fresh sense of inspiration and pride to the organization. We look forward to inspiring both staff and players in the new space as we build on our history and tradition in this next chapter of the Ontario Blue Jays. We are excited to create a space that parallels a condensed NCAA indoor training facility facilitating the best quality of training and development the province has to offer.

• Six 15’ wide and 70’ long cages with ability to widen cages or open completely for additional turf space.

• Two separate open turf space areas with the ability to open and take full length ground balls with double play capabilities.

• 2,300 square-foot weight-Room

• Two new HitTrax Machines

• Four new Pitching Machines (one Jugs, one senior Hack Attack, two junior Hack Attacks).

• New L-Screens, ball Carts, portable Mounds and nine-square pitchers pockets.

• Double sided portable plyo walls

• LED sports lighting and natural daylight
