Official Ottawa Titans News Release

Ottawa, Ont. - The Ottawa Titans have signed infielder Kevin Rolon, right-handed pitcher Nate Boyle, and utility player Manny Garcia for the upcoming 2023 Frontier League season.

Rolon, 24, joins the Titans following a trade earlier this off-season with the Sussex County Miners. For the Miners in 2022, he posted a .177 batting average with two homers and 18 RBIs in his first season of professional baseball. On June 21, he blasted his first professional home run off Evan Grills (Whitby, Ont.) to put the Miners in the lead to take the series opener.

A product of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Rolon attended the University of the Cumberlands (Williamsburg, Kentucky) where he played 131 games for the Patriots from 2019 to 2021.

Boyle, 25, officially signs with the Titans after being acquired from the Missoula PaddleHeads earlier this off-season. The 6-foot-2 right-hander went 2-0 with a 4.34 ERA across 18 appearances in 2022. Over 37 1/3 innings, Boyle struck out 29.

Hailing from Farmersville, Ohio, Boyle finished a four-year collegiate career at Drury University (Springfield, Missouri), pitching to a 1-1 record.

Garcia, 25, heads north for his second season of professional baseball in 2023. The 6-foot utility player split last season with the Windy City ThunderBolts and Empire State Greys, hitting .224 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs in 73 contests. On the final day of the 2022 season, Garcia appeared at all nine positions defensively for the Greys, which included a scoreless inning on the mound.

The Caguas, Puerto Rico native spent three collegiate seasons at Louisiana Tech University (Ruston, Louisiana), hitting .266 in 111 games from 2019-2021.

The Ottawa Titans open the 2023 season at home on Friday, May 12 against the Empire State Greys.
