Otto López hit a two-run home run in his first game in a San Francisco Giants uniform.
It was a two-run drive to left centre, scoring Yoshi Tsutsug, off Joe Nahas in the bottom of the ninth in a Giants’ 8-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs in front of 11,079 fans at Scottsdale Stadium in Catcus League play.
The 25-year-old López (Montreal, Que.) entered the game in the sixth inning to play shortstop, replacing Luis Matos in the order.
Prior to his homer, the ex-Blue Jay lined out to left field in the eighth, facing former Seattle Mariner Blake Weiman.
In the end, López went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored.
