Pan Am Qualifier: Canada loses to Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Argentina defeated Canada 8-3, in the second day of play at the WBSC Americas Pan Am Games Qualifier on Saturday.
With the loss, Canada is now 1-1 in the competition while Argentina climbs to the top of the leaderboard with a 2-0 record.
Canada struggled on both sides of the field, scoring only three runs on four hits while allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits.
Jacob Robson (Windsor, Ont.) did everything he could to spark the Canadian offence at the top of the lineup, finishing the day 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI.
Matt Lloyd (Okotoks, Alta.) and Jake Sanford (Dartmouth, N.S.) collected extra base hits for the Canadians with a triple and a double respectively.
Will McAffer (North Vancouver, BC) was the only Canadian pitcher with a scoreless line, working 1 2/3 innings and permitting only one hit while striking out one.
Canada will have an off day on Sunday before they face Peru on Monday.
