PBLO suspends baseball activities through April
April 3, 2020
Official Statement from the Premier Baseball League of Ontario
The Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO) is and has been monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic along with working with our teams and Baseball Ontario.
Baseball Ontario released the following statement on April 1, 2020:
Based on the recommendations of our provincial government health officials, Baseball Ontario will be extending the suspension of all in-person programs and activities until May 1, 2020. We will review this new timeline at the end of April.
Therefore, the PBLO will suspend all baseball activities until the end of April, at which time the PBLO Clubs and the executive will determine their next steps in conjunction with Health Canada, Health Ontario and OBA Baseball. The PBLO is hopeful that we will be able to salvage some of the spring season and teams have committed to work with a revised schedule if the restrictions are lifted.
The executive committee and clubs will meet regularly by teleconference call and continues to plan and prepare so that we are ready to go when the opportunity presents itself.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation
Yours Sincerely
Don Campbell
President PBLO
