Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release
The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Edmonton Prospects on Friday night by a score of 16-7.
The Dawgs’ offence blew the game open with a seven-run fourth inning that gave them a lead they would not relinquish.
The Dawgs’ record stands at 34-12, and they remain first in the west division.
Julian Tymochko (Toronto, Ont.) started on the mound and tossed four innings, recording five strikeouts, allowing only one run in the contest to earn his fifth win of the season. Relief efforts from Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.), Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, Alta.), Logan Rumberg (Dawgs Academy), Brandon LeBlanc (Dawgs Academy), Jackson Fraser (Saskatoon, Sask.) and Cade Herrmann shut down the Prospects’ offence and prevented Edmonton from mounting a comeback.
The Dawgs’ offence was firing on all cylinders Friday night as they put up 16 runs. McCoy Pearce (Kamloops, B.C.) led the way, going 4-for-5 with six RBIs and launched his team leading sixth home run of the season. Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) was a perfect 5-for-5 and finished with two RBIs. Micah McDowell (Kentville, N.S.) and Ricky Sanchez also had multi-hit games and combined for five RBIs.
The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium on July 29 to take on the Edmonton Prospects.
