This is the sixth weekend of NCAA Division I play for most teams. And while we’re behind it is never to late to recognize six Canucks who were recognizeed by Perfect Game and earned pre-season All-Conference honours.

_ Like former Okotoks Dawgs Matt Lloyd (Okotoks, Alta.) of the Indiana Hooisers. Lloyd, a double duty man this year was the same last spring, when he was voted to the Canadian Baseball Network all-College Second Team as a reliever and the Third Team as the DH in 2018.

Lloyd was 4-2 won-loss with seven saves and a 1.54 ERA. He walked five and fanned 22 in 23 1/3 innings. At the plate Lloyd hit .275 with 15 doubles, a triple, nine homers and 41 RBIs with an .814 OPS in 59 games.


_ RHP Noah Skirrow (Stoney Creek, Ont.) of the Liberty Flames. He pitched for the Tri-State Arsenal and the Ontario Blue Jays. Last spring as a freshman, he earned Big South Freshman of the Week honours. He made 15 appearances with a team-leading 14 starts going 4-3 with a 4.57 ERA. He walked 42 and whiffed 77 in 67 innings, holding opponents to a team-leading .223 batting average.


_ INF Trei Cruz (Toronto, Ont.) of the Rice Owls. Cruz is the son of former Blue Jays OF Jose Cruz and was born in Toronto. A Tournament 12 veteran, last year he hit .279 with six homers and 45 RBIs.


_ Kyle MacDonald (Mississauga, Ont.) of the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The former Ontario Terriers earned Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian college Third Team honours in 2018, as well as Honourable Mention in 2016.

MacDonald led in hits (66), homers (15), RBIs (50), total bases (127), and walks (39), while batting a team-best .346, third in the SBC. He posted a team-high .464 on-base percentage, which was the best in the league and 47th best in the country. His slugging percentage of .665 that was first in the Sun Belt, 22nd best in the nation, and seventh best in school history. MacDonald’s 15 home runs are tied for second most in a season in school history, while his 50 RBIs were the 10th best in school history. He also hit 12 doubles and two triples with a .489 on-base percentage and .736 slugging percentage.


_ SS Conner Morro (Cheltenham, Ont.) of the Canisius Golden Griffs. The former Ontario Blue Jays gained Canadian Baseball Network all-Canadian Second Team honours in 2018 and honourable mention in 2017.

He had 63 hits for a .342 batting average, with three triples, one homer and 30 RBIs plus a .457 slugging mark and he reached base at a .448 clip to finish fourth in the MAAC.



Great Lake Canadians grad OF Jake Wilson (New Lowell, Ont.) of the Bowling Green Falcons.

_ OF Jake Wilson (New Lowell, Ont.) of the Bowling Green Falcons. The former Great Lake Canadian hit .297 with 11 RBIs a .366 on-base percentage in 38 games, including 37 starts in centre. He was adjudged the best defensive centre fielder in the MAC and was named to the conference’s All-Defensive Team. He earned a berths on the MAC’s All-Academic Team and was a Mid-American Conference Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.
