What do Nick Weglarz and Jaden Brown have in common?

Well, slugger  Weglarz (Stevensville, Ont.) was cut from his Niagara Falls minor bantam team a decade ago. He did not pout or quit or consider giving up on the game. He went to play for St. Catharines, then on to Team Ontario and was the top high school player selected in the 2005 draft.

And athletic INF Brown (Mississauga, Ont.) didn’t make the Mississauga bantam team he wanted to a couple of years ago. He did not pout or quit or consider giving up on the game.
Now, Perfect Game Scouting Service has given Brown 2018 Preseason Underclass First Team All American honours. He is the top high schooler, according to PG, heading into the 2019 draft.

Brown is the only Canadian to be named to the team. Last year when Brown made the Ontario Blue Jays it was the first time he had made a team at the position he wanted to play.

Brown has committed to the University of Kentucky.

Eight other Canadians were given PG High Honourable Mention for the 2019 draft.
