R. I. P. Lee Nantais (1931 -2021)

Lee Nantais was a prominent figure in the baseball community in the greater Windsor area for more than half a century.

Baseball Ontario inducted Lee into the Baseball Ontario Hall of Fame in 2019 in the builder category.

Some of his involvement in the province:

_ Early 60’s – Sandwich, as a coach

_ Early 60’s – South Windsor, as president

_ 70s-80s – Sun Parlour Rep to Baseball Ontario

_ 1985-1986 – Baseball Ontario, president

_ 2001 – Baseball Ontario, honorary member

_ OBA Championships _ two at 13U, two at 15U and one at 18U

_ In 1986-87 and 1993 – he co-chaired the International tournament in Windsor

The Nantais sports store was opened in 1949 by his brother Russ. Lee took over the business in 1980 and ran it until 1990 when he sold it to a long time employee.

Baseball Ontario extends its most sincere condolences to everyone affected by Lee’s passing. He will be greatly missed.
