Regina Red Sox hurler Michael Batten wins WCBL pitching triple crown

Michael Batten of the Regina Red Sox has captured the Western Canadian’s Baseball League Pitching Triple Crown after leading the league in ERA, strikeouts and wins.
Batten’s ERA was 1.53 for the season and he also led the league with eight wins and struck-out 81 batters. The Riverview, Fla., native has been the ace of the Regina Red Sox who finished atop the WCBL’s Eastern Division with a 41-15 record. The Warner University senior was a perfect 8-0 and allowed just 36 hits in 58 2/3 innings this season.
The last WCBL Triple Crown winner was Red Sox Daniel Jones in 2012 who had a 1.34 ERA, nine wins and 70 strikeouts.
